Abstract: A method for congestion control in the uplink of a wireless communication system having a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a radio network controller (RNC) begins by receiving an interference report for each user. The average noise rise for each user calculated and congestion relieving measures are implemented based upon the average noise rise and the WTRU battery level. A method for congestion control in the downlink of a wireless communication system having a WTRU and a RNC begins by receiving a transmission power report for each user. The transmission power for each user is calculated, and congestion relieving measures are implemented based upon the average transmission power and the WTRU battery level.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and system for sending and reducing uplink feedback signaling by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) related to transmission of multimedia broadcast multi cast service (MBMS) data over a high speed down link packet access (HSDPA) channel. A Node B may pre-allocate a time frequency region or a common channelization code for the feedback. A triggering criterion for reporting a channel quality indicator (CQI) is set and WTRUs send a CQI to a Node B only if the triggering criterion is satisfied. The triggering criterion may be a current operating CQI value at the Node B, or based on erroneous transport block reception statistics, or a predetermined time period. A feedback reduction method related to ACK/NACK includes the WTRU sending an indication of an average number of transmissions needed to successfully decode the data instead of sending an ACK/NACK for every transmission interval.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and system for multi-cell coordination for multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS) in a wireless communication system. An MBMS multi-cell coordination unit is provided to coordinate a plurality of evolved Node-Bs (eNodeBs) for transmisstion of MBMS data synchronously in multiple cells of the same single frequencty network (SFN). The MBMS multi-cell coorditaion unit may be located in an access gateway or in an eNodeB. An MBMS multi-cell scheduling scheme may be preconfigured for the eNodeBs for synchronization. Alternatively, the eNodeBs may be synchronized dynamically.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for executing attachment procedures in a long term evolution (LTE) system to accommodate a single tunnel approach. Third Generation Partnership Program (3GPP) packet data protocol (PDP) context activation procedures are used for the allocation of an Internet protocol (IP) address and the establishment of tunneling between an evolved Node-B (eNodeB) and an anchor node, while allowing multiple radio access bearers (RABs) to be mapped to one PDP context for different quality of service (QoS) requirements. Thus, one PDP context is sufficient for a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) within a single packet data network (PDN). Multiple PDP contexts can be established for special requirements, (e.g., bundled services), or when the WTRU connects to multiple PDNs.

Abstract: A wireless communication system including at least one IEEE 802 multi-stack wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a plurality of technologically diversified access networks, such as IEEE 802.X networks and Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) networks, that are concurrently deployed, Both the multi-stack WTRU and the technologically-diversified networks include a media independent handover (MIH) function.; The WTRU is configured to read MIH information transmitted from one of the IEEE 802.X networks, trigger 3GPP authentication and authorization procedures based on the MIH information, obtain a local Internee protocol (IP) address, establish a tunnel to a packet data gateway (PDG) in a 3GPP core network, construct a care of address (CoA) and register the CoA with a home agent of the WTRU, whereby data destined for the WTRU is routed via the home agent through a new tunnel established between the home agent and a foreign agent based on the CoA.

Un método para provocar el control de índice de codec (codificación/decodificación) del RRC, utilizando las condiciones del Administrador del Recurso de Radio (RRM) en la red. Un método para coordinar el control del índice autónomo del Índice Múltiple de Adaptación (ANR) y el control del índice ordenado del Control de Recurso de Radio (RRC), utilizando un mecanismo de guardia entre los mensajes.
