    Abstract: In a wireless communication system including a (STA) including a basic service set (BSS) timer and in communication with a mesh access point (MAP), and a network management (NM) entity wherein the MAP and NM entity include a mesh timer, a method and apparatus for coordinating timing comprises the STA transmitting a BSS timer information message to the MAP, wherein the BSS timer information message includes a BSS timer value. The MAP receives the BSS timer information message and modifies the message. The MAP forwards the modified message to the NM entity.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing radio resources in one or more wireless communication networks. At least one radio resource manager (RRM) (106) is provided within a network node, or as an independent entity. The RRM (106) monitors performance on wireless communication links of the network(s) and interacts with nodes (102-I-102-n) associated with those links to change the configuration on a particular wireless communication link if its performance (i.e., quality) falls below an established threshold. Information regarding current resource usage of the network is sent to the RRM (106) by the nodes (102-1-102n). Each of the nodes (102-1102-n) may send a quality report to the RRM (106) including wireless communication link quality measurements and performance statistics.

    Abstract: The method involves transmitting a management frame by a mesh point (MP) to another MP, where the frame includes a medium access control (MAC) address of a destination MP. The management frame is received from the former MP, and a determination is made if it is the destination MP, by the latter MP. The management frame is updated if the latter MP determines it is not the destination MP. The management frame is transmitted to a third MP, where the management frame identifies the destination MP.
