Abstract: Provided is a modulating apparatus and method of an on-channel repeater. An object of the present invention is to provide a modulating apparatus of an o n- channel repeater for reducing time delay by configuring and up-sampling a baseband signal, filtering the up-sampled baseband signal with an Equi-Rippl e (ER) filter or in a window method, and converting the filtered baseband sign al into an RF signal. The modulating apparatus includes: a baseband signal configuring unit for configuring a baseband. signal by combining an input field and a segment sync signal; a pilot adding unit for adding a pilot sign al to the baseband signal; a filtering unit for filtering the baseband signal with the pilot signal; and an RF up-converting unit for up-converting the filtered signal into an RF signal. The present invention is used to form an on- channel repeating network in a transmitting system including a digital TV broadcasting system.

The DMB system includes an encoding unit for encoding an inputted audio/video signal; a synchronizing unit for synchronizing media stream, additional data, interactive service objectifyin g data that are outputted from the encoding unit; a multiplexing unit for multiplexing the media stream outputted from the synchronizing unit; an erro r correction encoding unit for performing additional error correction encoding on the media stream outputted from the multiplexing unit; an interleaving un it for removing temporal correlation between adjacent byte units within a data stream outputted from the error correction encoding unit; and a transmitting unit for transmitting a DMB media stream outputted from the interleaving uni t to the conventional DAB system and other digital broadcasting systems.

Abstract: A repeater and method for an ATSC terrestrial digital TV broadcasting service. The on-channel repeater includes: a receiving unit for receiving a Radio Frequency (RF) broadcast signal from a main transmitter; a frequency downlink converting unit for converting the received RF broadcast signal into an intermediate frequency (IF) signal; a demodulating unit for converting the converted IF signal into a baseband signal; an equalizing unit for removing noise and multi-path signals generated from the converted baseband signal; a modulating unit for converting the baseband signal into an IF signal; a frequency uplink converting unit for converting the IF signal into a RF broadcast signal; a high power amplifying unit for amplifying and repeating the converted RF broadcast signal; a transmitting unit for transmitting the RF broadcast signal outputted from the high power amplifying unit; and a signal synchronizing unit for generating the first reference frequency, and generating the second reference frequency based on the first reference frequency such that the transmission/reception signal are frequency-and-phase synchronized.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for analyzing identification (ID) signals by converting radio frequency (RF) signals which are transmitted with an ID signal added thereto by a transmitting part, e.g., a plurality of transmitters or repeaters, into signals of a desired band; creating ID signals that are identical to the ID signals added to the RF signals; calculating correlation values between the converted signals and the created ID signals based on partial correlation; and extracting channel profile of multi-path signals caused by a channel between the transmitting part and the ID signal analyzing apparatus from the correlation value. The technology of the present research is applied to broadcasting and communication.

El transmisor DTV incluye medios de entrada para recibir el flujo de datos de video digital que incluye datos robustos y datos normales, medios de codificacion para realizar la codificacion de 1/4 de proporcion en el flujo de datos de video digitales de manera que un bit puede transmitirse a traves de dos simbolos y medios de transmision para modular/transmitir las senales de salida de los medios de codificacion. Esta invencion puede reducir el SNR y satisfacer el TOV de los datos robustos mediante realizar el FEC adicional de los datos robustos, transmitiendo/recibiendo los datos robustos 1/4 de proporcion codificados, que son capaces de transmitir datos de un bit para dos simbolos y mejorando la habilidad de decodificacion de un ecualizador y un decodificador trellis de un receptor DTV.

Un objeto de la presente invencion es proporcionar un aparato de modulacion de un repetidor en canal para reducir el retardo de tiempo al configurar y muestrear ascendentemente una senal de banda base, filtrar la senal de banda base muestreada ascendentemente con un filtro de Equi-Ondulacion (ER) o en un metodo de ventana, y convertir la senal de banda base filtrada en una senal de RF. El aparato de modulacion incluye: una unidad de configuracion de senal de banda base para configurar una senal de banda base al configurar un campo de entrada y una senal de sincronizacion de segmento; una unidad de adicion de piloto para agregar una senal piloto a la senal de banda base; una unidad de filtracion para filtrar la senal de banda base con la senal piloto; y una unidad de conversion ascendente de RF para convertir ascendentemente la senal filtrada en una senal de RF. La presente invencion se utiliza para formar una red de repeticion en canal en un sistema de transmision que incluye un sistema de difusion de TV digital.
