    Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce a polyamide film having excellent mechanical properties, dimensional stability and retort resistance, by a method wherein a specified half- aromatic polyamide is melt-extruded into a film and the film is successively biaxially oriented. CONSTITUTION:A half-aromatic polyamide composed of, as the main structural units, 55-95wt% epsilon-caprolactum or 6-aminocaproic acid (A), 1-20wt% hexamethylenediamine terephthalate (B) and 0-25wt% hexamethylenediamine adipate (C), is molten by heating and extruded into a film by a T-die. The film is cooled by rollers kept at a temperature not higher than the glass transition point of the polyamide to obtain an unoriented film. Then the film is stretched lengthwise 2-6 times as long at a temp. of not lower than the glass transition point and at least 30 deg.C lower than the melting point between two rollers having different peripheral speeds, and then tentered crosswise 2-6 times as long at a temp. of not lower than the stretching temperature and at least 10 deg.C lower than the melting point. Then the biaxially oriented film is heat-treated at a temp. of not lower than the tentering temperature but not higher than the melting point.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare the title composition having excellent surface gloss, composed of a polyamide containing more than specific amount of hexamethylene isophthalamide unit, (6I unit), an aliphatic polyamide having lower melt viscosity than the 6I polyamide, and a reinforcing material comprising inorganic fibers. CONSTITUTION:A reinforced polyamide resin composition having excellent surface gloss, can be prepared by molding a homogeneous polymer blend composed of (A) 50-95wt% of a polyamide containing more than 50wt% of 6I unit in the polymer chain, (B) 1-15wt% of an aliphatic polyamide having lower melt viscosity than the (A) polyamide, and (C) 4-50wt% of a reinforcing material comprising inorganic fibers.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture the title molded article having excellent surface glossiness, by the injection molding of a mixture comprising a polyamide derived from hexamethylene isophthalamide (6I) and a reinforcing material comprising inorganic fibers, at a molding temperature to give an apparent melt viscosity of lower than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A resin mixture composed of (A) 50-90wt% of a 6I polyamide derived from (a) 30-100% of 6I component, (b) 0-50% of hexamethylene terephthalamide, and (c) 0-30% of hexamethylene adipamide, and (B) 5-50wt% of a reinforcing agent comprising inorganic fibers, is kneaded, pelletized, and injection molded. The injection molding is carried out at a temperature to give an apparent viscosity of the formula I (mua10 is melt viscosity (poise) at a molding temp. of T deg.C, under a shear rate of 10 sec ; Ts is the softening point of the polyamide; 10 deg.C =40% is manufactured by this process.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antistatic resin composition which can give a molding having permanent antistatic properties, well-balanced and excellent mechanical properties typified by impact resistance and surface gloss, and does not undergo delamitation by blending specified three components. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by blending 1-40 pts.wt. polyamide elastomer containing polyether ester units or polyether units and being a block or graft copolymer obtained by the reaction of a polyamide-forming component such as caprolactam or 12-aminododecananoic acid with a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol, 50-98 pts.wt. acrylic resin comprising a (meth)acrylic ester and is being e.g. a polymethyl acrylate being a (co)polymer of an alkyl (meth)acrylate compound and obtained by e.g. suspension polymerization or emulsion polymerization, and 0.1-10 pts.wt. carboxylic modified vinyl polymer and modified vinyl polymer containing at least one type of functional group selected among epoxy groups, amino groups, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a copolymer, containing a polyglutarimide structural unit and a specific structural unit, excellent in heat resistance and moldability, improved in melt fluidity and useful as a material, etc., for moldings. CONSTITUTION:This copolymer contains (A) 1-99wt.% polyglutarimide structural unit of formula I (R0 and R1 are each H or a 1-20C monovalent hydrocarbon) and (B) 1-99wt.% structural unit of formula II (R2 to R5 are each H or a 1-20C hydrocarbon; R7 is a l-20C bivalent hydrocarbon) and has 0.2-2dl/g intrinsic viscosity in N,N-dimethylformamide solvent (measured at 30 deg.C). The copolymer preferably further contains (C) a structural unit of formula III (R8 is a 1-20C monovalent hydrocarbon without any amino group). The amount of the structural unit (C) is 0.1-50 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. total amount of the structural units (A) and (B). The copolymer is obtained by reacting a raw material copolymer containing ethylene structural unit having an organic group to which amino group is bound in the side chain and the structural unit (C) with an imidating agent of formula IV.
