    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the stacking of sediments on the fringe of a spinning nozzle while uniformly keeping the cross sectional shape and the diameter of the textiles in melt spinning a polyester added with a calcium salt such as calcium acetate, etc., by forming the fringe of the spinning nozzle with a ceramic and arranging the roughness of the inner surface of the spinning nozzle less than a specific value. SOLUTION: This fringe of the spinning nozzle 1 for extruding polyester added with a glycol soluble calcium salt is formed with ceramics and the roughness of the inner wall of the nozzle 1 is set at >=0.1S. This process is especially effective when the outlet shape of the extruding nozzle 4 has multifoliate shape.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject monofilament that excels in effect of suppressing scum formation in screen gauze weaving because of containing a specific quantity of a modified block copolymer, and has high mechanical strength and high modulus of elasticity, which are necessary for precision screen printing. SOLUTION: This polyester monofilament for screen gauze is a sheath-core type conjugate monofilament having 6g/d or higher breaking strength, 3.5g/d or larger elastic modulus at an elongation of 10%, and where the core component is composed of a polyethylene terephthalate, and the sheath component contains 0.5-40wt.% of a modified block copolymer obtained by melt-kneading, in the presence of an organic peroxide, a block copolymer composed of the following components (a), (b) and (c): (a) 25-98.99wt.% of a propylene-ethylene random copolymer component composed of 85-20mol% of a propylene-based monomer unit and 15-80mol% of an ethylene-based monomer unit, (b) 1-70wt.% of a polypropylene component, and (c) 0.01-5wt.% of polybutene.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce end breakage, stabilize a melt spinning process and improve the properties capable of passing through the processes in higher order processing by admixing a sterol as an end breakage inhibitor with a thermoplastic synthetic polymer and pelt skinning it. CONSTITUTION:With a thermoplastic synthetic polymer, 0.005 to 5wt.%, preferably 0.01 to 2wt.% sterol such as beta-sitosterol is admixed and the resultant mixture is subjected to melt spinning. In the case of a polyester or nylon, addition of the sterol is carried out preferably according to the melt kneading method.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve uniformity of flow of a discharged polymer by specifying a polymer discharge hole of a spinneret. CONSTITUTION:A polymer discharging hole is constituted of a flow-in part facing to the inlet of the polymer, a throttling part 4 and a discharge part 5 and diameters of the flow-in part, the throttling part and the discharge part are each made continuously smaller at angles of 0-3 degree, 20-50 degree and 3-20 degree to the center axis of the discharge hole. The ratio (L/D) of length L of a discharge part to diameter D of outlet of discharge hole is set to 1-10 and the diameter D is set to 0.1-0.5mm. The length (d) of chamfer of outlet part of discharge hole = (D-D')/2 is set to 3-30mum (D' is minimum pore diameter of polymer discharge hole).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain in high productivity the title fiber excellent in both mechanical strength and elongation characteristics by using a polyester having a specific copolymerized component to enable the winding speed to be enhanced in the direct spinning and drawing process. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a melt spinning is made for a polyester made up of (A) dicarboxylic acid component predominant in terephthalic acid with >=8C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (pref. of 8-16C, such as suberic acid) accounting for 2-20mol% of the whole dicarboxylic acid component and (B) diol component predominant in ethylene glycol, followed by cooling and solidifying the resultant filament yarn which is then oiled and taken up by the first godet roller 5 at >=5000m/min followed by drawing and heat treatment between said first godet roller 5 and the second godet roller 6, thus obtaining the objective fiber. For the drawing and heat treatment, it is recommended that the circumferential speed of the second godet roller 6 be set so as to be higher than that of the first godet roller 5 and the surface of the roller 6 heated.
