    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain excellent ion exchange fibers free from clogging by using an assemblage of continuous filament lines having ion exchange groups as a fiber adsorbing material and melt-sticking both ends thereof. CONSTITUTION:A fiber assemblage of continuous filament lines having ion exchange groups which is of a columnar or cylindrical shape of about 3-30mm. length wherein fibers are melt-stuck in both end parts is used as an adsorbing material made of fiber for exchanging of low molecular ions, adsorbing and desorbing of middle and high polymer materials, etc. If the ion exchange fibers of such specific shapes are used for the adsorbing material, clogging and pressure drop are eliminated without losing the advantages of the ion exchange fibers having high surface areas and high ion adsorbing power, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled filaments, having improved moire patterns, and capable of giving cloth having a dry touch, by spinning a polyamide containing a specific thermoplastic polymer, cold drawing the resultant filaments at a low draw ratio, and forming thick and thin boudary parts at a specific density randomly in the fibrous direction. CONSTITUTION:A polyamide, e.g. nylon 6 or 66, is mixed with 0.1-20wt%, preferably 0.2-15wt%, thermoplastic polymer, e.g. polystyrene or styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, miscible with the polyamide, but incompatible therewith, and having the second order transition point >=80 deg.C, preferably >=100 deg.C, and the resultant mixture is then spun into filaments, which are then drawn at a draw ratio preferably 0.3-1.8 lower than that (3.8) to give an elongation of 45% without heating to afford the aimed filaments having average 10 or more/m thick and thin boundary parts (necking points) with sharp changing areas preferably within 0.5mm. randomly arranged in the fibrous direction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled carrier having a large amount of immobilization of various kinds of physiologically active substance, capable of keeping the activity stably as it is, having improved mechanical strength and microorganism pollution resistance, comprising a specific adduct of an inert polymonovinyl aromatic compound with anion exchange groups. CONSTITUTION:A carrier for immobilizing a physiologically active substance (e.g., enzyme, such as glucose isomerase, etc.) consisting of (C) an adduct of an inert polymonovinyl aromatic compound with anion exchange groups obtained by adding (A) an anion exchange group[e.g., -(NH(CH2)nNH2(n=2-12), etc.]containing a primary amino group and (B) an anion exchange group (e.g., beta-aminopropionamidomethyl group, etc.) comprising a secondary or more amino group to an inert polymonovinyl aromatic compound[e.g., (co)polymer of styrene, vinylnaphthalene, etc.].
