Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded article of a polyamide resin reinforced with a fiber filler, having excellent specific rigidity and exhibiting higher rigidity by the addition of a small amount of the reinforcing material. SOLUTION: This molded article is produced by the melt-molding of a resin composition composed of (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polycapramide or a copolymerized polyamide containing a capramide component as a main component, (B) 0.1-15 pts.wt. of a swelling lamellar silicate and (C) 10-150 pts.wt. of a fibrous reinforcing material. The ratio of α-crystal in the crystal of the polyamide component in the molded article is >=50%.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition good in mechanical characteristics and electrical characteristics and excellent in flame retardancy by incorporating a phyllosilicate salt having exchangeable cations existing between layers replaced by organic onium ions and an organic brominated oligomer or polymer each in a specific amount into a thermoplastic polyester resin. SOLUTION: Into 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester resin (A) are incorporated 0.1-40 pts.wt. of a phyllosilicate salt (B) having exchangeable cations existing between layers replaced by organic onium ions and 2-60 pts.wt. of an organic brominated oligomer or polymer (C). Preferably, at least 70% of the component B is uniformly dispersed in the phase A and the component B is previously dispersed in the component A before the component C is added. Further are added 0.2-30 pts.wt. of an auxiliary flame retardant, 2-100 pts.wt. of a fibrous inorganic filler, 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a fluorine-containing resin, 3-80 pts.wt. of an impact modifier and 0.05-10 pts.wt. of an organic compound having a functional group reactive with the thermoplastic polyester.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyphenylene sulfide(PPS) resin composition which inhibits generation of burrs and is especially useful for small precision components, or the like. SOLUTION: This resin composition is prepared by mixing (A) a polyphenylene sulfide resin and (B) from 0.1 to 50 wt.% swellable lamellar silicate, calculated as an inorganic ash content in the composition. Here, the extractability of the polyphenylene sulfide resin into chloroform in Soxhlet extraction is 3 wt.% or less of the polyphenylene sulfide resin.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin compsn. which contains a filler or layered silicate having a small particle size and homogeneously dispersed therein by mixing a thermoplastic resin with an inorg. filler under contact with a supercritical fluid. SOLUTION: This resin compsn. is prepd. by mixing 100 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin with an inorg. filler in an amt. of 80-0.01 wt.% of the compsn. and 0.05-10 pts.wt. olefin compd. having a carboxylic anhydride group under contact with carbon dioxide or the like which becomes a supercritical fluid at a temp. in the range from the m.p. of the resin to its decomposition temp. in an amt. of the fluid of 0.01-30 wt.% of the compsn. Examples of the thermoplastic resin are a polyamide resin, a polyester resin, and a polyarylene sulfide resin. The inorg. filler is a fibrous one (e.g. glass fibrs or steel fibres), a powdery or platy one (e.g. tale or mica), or a layered silcate (e.g. montmorillonite), and 0.01-20 wt.% coupling agent (e.g. a silane compd.) is added to the filler.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a copolyester which is excellent in flow and moldability, gives a molding excellent in heat resistance, rigidity, impact resistance, etc., and is desirable for the production of electrical or electronic components, etc., by combining four specified kinds of structural units. CONSTITUTION:A copolyester which comprises structural units of formulas I, II, III and IV, wherein the amount of structural units of formulas I and II is 80-90mol% based on structural units of formulas I, II and III, the amount of structural units of formula III is 20-1mol% based on structural units of formulas I, II and III, the molar ratio of units of formula I to units of formula II is 75/25-95/5, the molar ratio of units of formula II to units of formula III is 90/10-40/60, the melting temperature (Tm deg.C) satisfies formula V (wherein x is a molar ratio of units of formula III to units of formulas I, II and III), and the logarithmic viscosity is 3-10dl/g, and which has melt anisotropy. An example of the production process comprises reacting p-hydroxybenzoic acid with 4,4'- dihydroxybiphenyl and acetic anhydride, 2,6-diacetoxy-naphthalene and terephthalic acid and polymerizing them through the elimination of acetic acid in a molten state.
