An embodiment or the present invention includes a device to alter transfer characteristies of a road departure warning installation installed on a road to a driver of a vehicle, including a rumble strip sensor to sense input from a rumble strip and an adjustable vehicle component in communication with the sumble strip sensor, the adjustable vehicle component configured to automatically adjust to increase an amount of input from the romble strip sensed by the driver. Another embodiment of the present invention includes a device to estimate lateral displacement of a vehicle based on the location of a rumble strip installed on a road with respect to the vehicle, the device including a processor configured to receive four signals indicative of contact of a rumble strip with respective associated four tires of the vehicle and to estimate a lateral distance that the vehicle has traveled beyond the detected rumple strip.

A stability control system for road vehicles comprising a limit handling assistance controller which uses video lane detection measurements in conjunction with vehicle dynamics information, including inertial brakes and steering measurements to control vehicle EPS and VSC systems to assist the driver stabilise the vehicle and correct for any lane offset prior to and/or during of understeer, oversteer, split-µ and heavy breaking conditions, and lane changes.

The invention relates to a method for influencing a system controlling or regulating the position and/or direction of a motor vehicle in relation to a lane. The inventive method is characterized by the fact that the system is deactivated when the risk of a collision with an obstacle on the lane is detected and that the system is activated only when a potentially hazardous situation regarding the dynamics of the motor vehicle movement is detected.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Regelung eines Kraftfahrzeuges mit einer Bremsanlage, mit einer Fahrstabilitätsregelung, in welcher eine, insbesondere gemessene, Ist-Gierrate mit einer Soll-Gierrate (A), welche anhand eines Modells berechnet wird, verglichen wird, wobei bei der Berechnung der Soll-Gierrate für die Fahrstabilitätsregelung ein Giermoment (M z ) einer Assistenzregelung oder -Steuerung eines Assistenzsystems zur Spurführung oder Spurhaltung oder Querführung berücksichtigt wird. Die Erfindung betrifft ebenfalls ein zur Durchführung des Verfahrens geeignetes elektronisches Bremsensteuergerät, welches mit zumindest einem Fahrzeugsensor, insbesondere Lenkwinkelsensor und/oder Gierratensensor und/oder Raddrehzahlsensoren, verbunden ist, und welches durch eine Ansteuerung von Aktuatoren einen fahrerunabhängigen Aufbau und eine Modulation der Bremskräfte an den einzelnen Rädern des Kraftfahrzeugs bewirken kann.

The invention relates to a means of transport having a three-dimensional distance camera and a method for building and operating said three-dimensional distance camera in means of transport, more particularly in motor vehicles. The inventive method, and especially the inventive device, is suitable for utilization in motor vehicles as braking assistant system, damage reducing system, closing velocity sensor system, preferably as collision detection system in the front area, the sides and/or the rear, for accident prevention, pedestrian protection, as stop-and-go or jam assistant system, parking assistant system, for example, parking space measurement, parking assistant system and/or autonomous parking. The invention can also be advantageously used for blind spot monitoring, as lane departure warning system, lane changing assistant system, more particularly with blind spot monitoring and/or lane position detection, lane keeping support, overturning and/or pitching angle detection system. Furthermore, the invention can be advantageously used for night vision, as road condition detection system, door stopper, traffic sign detection system, light sensor, weather sensor, passability sensor and/or for docking support or back-up support.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Beeinflussung eines die Position und/oder die Orientierung eines Kraftfahrzeugs bezüglich einer Fahrspur steuernden oder regelnden Systems. Der Kern der Erfindung besteht darin, dass das System dann deaktiviert wird, wenn eine Kollisionsgefahr mit einem Hindernis auf der Fahrspur detektiert wird und dass das System nur dann aktiviert wird, wenn eine bezüglich der Fahrdynamik des Kraftfahrzeugs potentiell gefährliche Situation detektiert wird.
