    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinged sliding door system for a vehicle attaining slow opening operation of a sled in a simple, low-cost form with relatively high torque and quick movement of at least one door leaf with relatively low torque. SOLUTION: A driving device 26 is provided for driving at least one door leaf 26a and moving the sled in a lateral direction to a longitudinal axis of a vehicle. The driving device 10 includes a motor 11 and a chain or belt transmission device 14 driven by the motor. The belt or chain transmission device 14 has one transmission device 40 formed to perform opening operation during the opening operation of the sled 3 slowly but with high torque and the side operation of at least one door leaf 26a after the completion of opening operation quicker than the opening operation but with smaller torque. CONSTITUTION: A hinge apparatus having an auto return and stop function using a worm internal gear comprises a screw shaft(110), a screw supporting shaft(150), a screw nut(120), a guide(130), an elastic member(160), and a fixing member(180). The screw shaft is arranged inside a housing(100) and fitted with a screw-shaped worm on the exterior. The screw supporting shaft is combined with the other end of the screw shaft and supports the screw shaft. The screw nut is equipped with an internal worm and rotates on the screw shaft while ascending and descending in the longitudinal direction of the housing. The screw nut is located on the screw supporting shaft when separated from the screw shaft. The guide makes the housing and the screw nut rotate together and the screw nut ascend or descend on the screw shaft. The elastic member makes contact with the bottom surface of the screw nut, and contracts by the lowering of the screw nut and expands to apply a restoring force to the screw nut. The fixing member seals the bottom of the housing, supports the screw supporting shaft, and fixes the elastic member.

The pitch of the stays of the screw thread is greater than the pitch at which self-locking occurs.
