    Abstract: A vehicle door pushing device in a vehicle door includes a gear member, a male screw member, and a female screw member. The gear member is rotatable by an actuator around an axis extending in a first direction substantially parallel to a vehicle width direction. The male screw member is coaxial with the gear member, and rotates integrally with the gear member. The female screw member is screwed onto the male screw member, and is movable along the first direction by rotation of the male screw member to each of a first position of being in a casing and a second position of at least partially protruding from the casing to a vehicle inner side. The gear member has a cup-shaped structure open at an end on the vehicle inner side in the first direction for being able to accommodate at least a part of the female screw member.

    Abstract: A powered actuator for moving a motor vehicle closure panel from a closed position to an open position and method of construction thereof. Powered actuator includes an electric motor configured to rotate a driven shaft and a gearbox coupled to the driven shaft. An extensible member extends through the gearbox to a proximal end on one side of the gearbox for attachment to one of a vehicle body or the closure member and to a distal end on an opposite side of the gearbox. Extensible member is configured to move between retracted and extended positions in response to rotation of the driven shaft. A contamination cover enshrouds the extensible member between the gearbox and the distal end of the extensible member. Contamination cover moves between an axially extended state and an axially retracted state while the extensible member moves between the respective retracted position and the extended position.

    Abstract: A method for calibrating a powered actuator for use in a vehicle is provided, with regard to an end position of an actuating element which is easy to achieve and conserves easily damaged mechanical components of the actuator made from plastic, rubber or similar. According to an example embodiement, in a calibrating step, the actuator is operated with recording and analysis of an actuation speed measured parameter such that the actuating element is moved in the direction of the end position and reaching the end position is recognized when the value of the actuation speed measured parameter reaches or drops below a given threshold. A temperature parameter characterizing the temperature of the actuator is evaluated before or during the calibration process. The calibration step is then only carried out if the value of the temperature parameter does not exceed an upper temperature limit. An actuator suitable for carrying out said method is also disclosed.
