Abstract: A voltage regulator for a flash memory device is provided to remove over-shoot and ripple of a regulation voltage when an external high voltage is supplied as the regulation voltage. In a voltage regulator of a flash memory device outputting a regulation voltage by regulating an input voltage, a selection circuit(110) selects one of an external high voltage and an internal pumping voltage in response to a mode selection signal. A first switch(120) has first current driving capability, and provides the external high voltage as the regulation voltage. A second switch(130) has second current driving capability different from the first current driving capability, and provides the internal pumping voltage as the regulation voltage. A switch control circuit selects one of the first and the second switch in response to the mode selection signal, and controls the selected switch according to the regulation voltage.
