    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining method capable of removing contaminants produced by laser beam irradiation and stuck to a resin during machining, thereby obtaining a laser beam machining face having clean and desired shape in the case of machining a resin by laser beam irradiation. SOLUTION: A top board 35 made of resin is machined into the prescribed shape such as ink passage groove by the irradiation of excimer laser beam L, a basic wave and two hold higher harmonic wave of YAG laser beam L2 , which are absorbed into contaminants (byproducts) produced by laser beam machining but is not absorbed into the resin, are simultaneously radiated. By the irradiation of the basic wave or two hold higher harmonic wave of YAG laser beam L2 , the contaminants (byproducts) produced by the irradiation of the laser beam L and stuck to the resin is removed during laser beam machining, a clean and fine shape is machined with high precision.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid jet recording head in which a nozzle hole can be bored without causing an edge-like level difference on the boundary of parts for boring and not boring a nozzle hole at the time of laser machining of the nozzle hole of a liquid jet recording head and the jetting performance can be enhanced without sacrifice of liquid jetting rate. SOLUTION: When a nozzle hole 5 of a liquid jet recording head is bored by irradiating an orifice plate 2 with laser light through a nozzle hole boring mask 14 and a demagnification projection optical system, the mask 14 is irradiated with laser light while being moved along a circular track of radius Δd having a center (o) matching the center (p) of a machining pattern 14a thus forming a part 5a for boring a nozzle hole and a part 5c for semi-boring a nozzle hole. According to the method, a tunnel-like nozzle hole 5 can be bored without causing an edge-like level difference on the boundary of a liquid channel and the liquid jet nozzle hole 5.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long liquid jet recording head manufacturing method capable of accurately processing a plurality of ink passages and ink emitting orifices to a long top plate within a short time. SOLUTION: The processing positions of the ink passages or emitting orifices in the top plate 11 of a long liquid jet recording head are observed by the object lens 12 of the observation optical system connected to an image processor to perform image processing by the image processor. At first, the A-point of the top plate 11 is recognized to be numelated as coordinates (Xa, Ya) and the top plate 11 is successively moved and several places of processing positions B, C, D or E are respectively numerated in the same way and, on the basis of these data, the shapes of the top plate and approximate straight lines or curved lines approximate to the processing positions between A-B, B-C, C-D and D-E are calculated and the top plate is moved along the approximate straight lines or curved lines to successively perform the laser processing of the ink passages or emitting orifices.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve full automation and hold constant the accuracy of position adjustment by providing a control means which drivingly moves first to sixth drive means to drivingly move first to sixth stages according to the results of computations by a picture processing means so that heaters are in a predetermined positional relationship to corresponding nozzles. CONSTITUTION:An assembling unit 10 by which a top board member in which nozzles corresponding to plural heaters are formed is mounted on a heater board having the plural heaters formed thereon is provided with a first camera 42g for taking images of the plural heaters and a second camera for taking images of the plural nozzles. The positions of the heaters and the nozzles and the relationship among the positions are computed by a picture processing unit 44 according to image information taken by the first and second cameras 42g, 40g. Next, each stage 18, 20, 22, 28, 30, 32 is drivingly controlled by a control unit 38 according to the result of this computation so that the heaters are in a predetermined positional relationship to the corresponding nozzles thus holding constant the accuracy of position adjustment.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To adjust the position of a mask without assistance by requiring an amount of deviation of a mask from a hole position to a laser beam axis and moving the mask through a mask position adjusting mechanism to correct this. CONSTITUTION:In a laser beam machine, alignment of a work W is performed as the central position of prescribed two slots is agreed with the central position of two holes corresponding to two slots of holes made on the work W previously. The central position of this hole and the central position of the slot are obtained by processing image signals of the holes and slots observed by ITVs 71, 81 of the measurement optics systems 70, 80 through the image processing systems 208,209. The central position of the hole obtained is stored in a storage means RAM 202 as a reference value through a control system 200. Further, in the control system 200, the central position of the slot obtained by the image processing systems 208, 209 is compared with the reference value to calculate the amount of deviation of the work W, the calculated amount of deviation is transmitted to the controller 206 of the mobile system as an amount of travel and a mobile stage 120 is driven to agree the center of the hole of the work W with the center of the slot.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately, stably and surely join a grooved top plate to an element substrate with use of a pressing member and facilitate manufacture while affording a highly fine, high image quality. SOLUTION: A pressing member 1 for pressing thereby joining a grooved top plate 2 to an element substrate 3 fixed to a base plate 4 is constituted of a pressing part 1b, a U-shaped elastic part 1c, an engaging part 1d and deform action project elements 1a at both end parts of the pressing part 1b for charging a spring urging force. After the pressing member 1 is set to the base plate 4, the deform action project elements 1a are moved by a charge pin thereby charging the spring urging force. Also, the pressing part 1b is moved to form a gap over the element substrate 3 in which the top plate 2 can be inserted. The top plate 2 is arranged on the element substrate 3 and adjusted in position. Thereafter, the top plate 2 is pressed by the pressing part 1b through a down move of the charge pin. The top plate 2 and element substrate 3 are thus joined and fixed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute laser machining in groove machining and pore machining for a nozzle member constituting a liquid-jet recording head by utilizing optical systems optimized respectively, and carry out groove machining and pore machining with high accuracy in a simplified apparatus by projecting a laser beam onto the nozzle member. SOLUTION: A liquid-jet recording head manufacturing apparatus includes a plurality of optical systems 13 having respective masks 16 whose machining patterns are different from one another, a mirror movement mechanism 20 for directing a laser beam L emitted from a laser oscillator 11 to the plural optical systems 13, and a stage 23 for moving a nozzle member 1 in a Y- direction only. The laser beam L is led to each optical system 13 with the aid of the mirror movement mechanism 20, and the laser beam L passing through each optical system 13 is projected onto the nozzle member 1. Thus, an image of the machining pattern of each mask 16 is formed to carry out a machining operation and, by moving the nozzle member 1 in the Y-direction with the aid of the stage 23, a plurality of machining portions of the nozzle member 1 are machined.
