Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate contact of a magnetic disk with a regulating surface of a sliding part by providing the sliding part with a slant surface in order to bring a corner part of a recessed groove of the sliding part on the upstream side and a corner part of the slant surface on the downstream side into contact with a rotating flexible magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:The sliding part 2 is formed with the recessed groove 22 which is opened in the inside direction of the rotational surface opposite to a movable range of a magnetic head 3. Then, the part 2 is formed with the slant surface on the downstream side of the groove 22 as the farther the downstream side the closer the position to the flexible magnetic disk 1. And, a parallel surface 24a to the rotational surface of the disk 1 is formed on the upstream side. Then, the part 2 is in contact to the disk 1 at the corner part 25a extending in the radial direction of the groove 22 on the upstream side of the groove 22 and also as the corner part 26 extending in the radial direction formed in the downstream of the slant surface 24b on the downstream side. As a result, no contact is allowed between the regulating surface of the part 2 and the disk 1 due to sucking each other, thus obtaining good recording and reproducing characteristics.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a glassy carbon material having low friction resistance to an opposite material, excellent wear resistance of its own and durability, by curing a thermosetting polymer material, heating the material under a specific treating condition and carbonizing. CONSTITUTION:In production of a glassy carbon material including (A) a process to curing a polymer material consisting essentially of a thermosetting polymer and (B) a process to heat and to carbonize the polymer material obtained by the process A, the process B is carried out as follows. Namely, in the carbonizing baking process B, (B-1) pretreatment process of pretreating at 800-1,200 deg.C and (B-2) pressurizing and heat-treating process of heat-treating in an inert atmosphere at 1,200-1,600 deg.C while applying a pressure of >=1,000 atmosphere are carried out. A monomer for a thermosetting polymer may be used as the polymer material used or a blend of a curing precursor and ultrafine particles or whiskers as a filler may be used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polyurethane foam excellent in dimensional stability even at low temperatures by reacting a polyol component with an isocyanate component in the presence of a catalyst containing a compound having a tert- amino group and an NCO-reactive OH group and a compound having a prim- amino group and a prim-OH group, a blowing agent, and a foam stabilizer. SOLUTION: Preferably, the compound having a tert-amino group and an NCO-reactive OH group is 6-dimethylamino-1-hexanol, and the compound having a prim-amino group and a prim-OH group is preferably a compound of the formula: A-(CH2)n-NH2 and/or a compound selected from among 3- aminopropanol, 2-hydroxyethylaminopropylamine, 2- hydroxyethylaminoethylamine, and N-methyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,3- propanediamine. In the formula, A is NR1R2 or OH; R1 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R2 is CH2CH2OH; and n is 2-6.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the disk substrate of a type dealing with high-density recording by subjecting the substrate for the magnetic recording medium consisting of a conductive substrate to electrolytic etching in an electrolyte soln., thereby forming the substrate. CONSTITUTION:The substrate for the magnetic recording medium consisting of the conductive substrate is formed by electrolytic etching in the electrolyte soln. Any substrate having OMEGAcm specific resistance is satisfactory. The substrate formed by coating the surface of glassy carbon subjected to surface polishing with a nonmagnetic metallic layer of Ni-P plating, etc., is used. This conductive substrate is subjected to electrolytic etching by electrolysis with the substrate as anode. The texture having excellent productivity and surface characteristics is thereby obtd. The disk substrate of the type dealing with high-density recording and eventually the high-density recording type magnetic disk are obtd.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a reactive activation agent layer of an organic protective film to achieve a higher quality. CONSTITUTION:For example, an ultraviolet hardening type hard coat agent is applied on a polycarbonate substrate 2 by 1-2 mum by a spin coat method and hardened by irradiation with ultraviolet rays to form an organic protective film. A solution mixed with one part of a cation based activation agent having unsaturated alyl group, 99 parts of methyl ethyl ketone and 0.05 parts of photopolymerization initiator is applied on the film 3 on coating conditions of 20 sec as intact initially at 300 rpm and 3000 rpm after 5 sec. by the spin coat method and the work is dried for 10 minute at 50 deg.C thereafter. Moreover, an electron irradiation is performed to cause a reaction with the cation based activating agent having the unsaturated alyl group to form a reactive activation agent layer 4 with a thickness of 0.01-1 mum. This provides a product hard to damage and achieves higher quality with limited adhesion of dirts and dust and limited generation of errors.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristic by forming the regulation plane of the slidably contacting component at the downstream side of the magnetic head as an oblique plane being separated from a disk, and forming the regulation plane of the slidably contacting component at the upstream side as a plane approaching to the disk in parallel with the oblique plane or a rotating plane so as to stabilize the abutting states of slidably contacting components at the downstream and upstream sides of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:The regulation plane which regulates the disk position of a first slidably contacting component 7 is formed as the oblique plane being separated from the rotating plane of the disk 1 at the downstream side as approaching, and a groove part 73 having a part to intersect orthogonally to the oblique plane in a rotational direction is formed, and the regulation plane to regulate the disk position of a second slidably contacting component 8 is formed as the oblique plane approaching the rotating plane of the disk 1 at the downstream side as approaching. Thereby, a flexible magnetic disk 1 is pressed on the magnetic head 3 with a constant pressing force by the negative pressure of an air flow at a first regulation plane, and the flexible magnetic disk can be prevented from being collided on the second slidably contacting component 8 with the positive pressure of the air flow, then, the traveling plane of the disk can be stably regulated. In such a way, the travel of the flexible magnetic disk 1 can be stabilized, and the satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristic can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve stability and durability of a magnetic medium recording device useful for processing information, etc., by constructing a slide contact surface of a slide contact part in a recording device consisting of a magnetic head, etc., from a composition containing glassy carbon and a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting polymer is carbonized to provide a glassy carbon material (A), such as polyacrylonitrile based material. One or more are selected from fine metallic oxide particles, fine metallic nitride particles, fine metallic carbide particles and fine metallic boride particles to afford an inorganic compound (B) (e.g. SiC having about 0.06mum particle diameter). The components (A) and (B) are then mixed to provide a composite material (C), which is then subjected to cutting out machining to afford a slide contact part 11. The back surface of a magnetic head 24 of a disk drive consisting of a spindle 22 for rotating a flexible magnetic disk 21 and the magnetic head 24, etc., in the vicinity of the surface of the disk 21 is provided with the slide contact part 11 to improve durability of the resultant magnetic medium record ing device.
