Abstract: PURPOSE: To form an ultra-water-repellent surface by coating a water-repellent substance on the surface of a metal having the contact angle to water below a specific value and having a finely rugged structure and to improve the frictional property of the resultant metallic material to ice and snow. CONSTITUTION: A finely rugged structure is imparted to the surface of a metal so that the contact angle to water is regulated to surface seen as a plane is preferably made larger. The surface of the metal is then coated with a water-repellent substance to form an ultra-water-repellent surface. This coating is carried out by treating the surface of the metal with a coupling agent such as trichloroalkylsilane.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a taste-related protein extractant capable of extracting a taste-related protein which exists on the tongue and plans an important role in manifestation of sweetness, flavor, etc., and of changing taste sensitivity of the tongue. CONSTITUTION:This taste-related protein extractant comprises a suspension of liposome containing an amide bond-containing phosphatidylcholine of formula I (R and R are 8-24C alkyl or 8-24C alkenyl), preferably 1,2- dimyristoylamido-1,2-deoxyphosphatidylcholine(DDPC). The suspension of liposome comprises the compound of formula I and a phospholipid for forming an ordinary liposome, preferably a phosphatidylcholine of formula II (R and R are R and R ) such as egg yolk lecithin or dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine(DMPC) and a mixture of DDPC and egg yolk lecithin or DMPC in the molar ratio of 4:6 may be cited as the suspension of liposome. The extractant is brought into contact with the surface of epithelium of the tongue to extract a taste-related protein existing on the surface of epithelium of the tongue.

A compound expressed by formula I [at least one of A to A is substituent group containing the phosphoric acid group, phosphonic acid group, carboxyl group or its salt in the structure and the other is H, halogen, OH, nitro, alkyl, alkenyl, acyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, phenylazo or N(R')R'' (R' and R'' are H, alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, benzyl or acyl)] is especially cited as the active ingredient. Furthermore, a solvent such as a compound expressed by formula II [R is H, alkyl, etc.; Y and Z are H or OH; (p) to (r) are 0-5] can be added to further improve the solubility of the compound expressed by formula I.

Abstract: PURPOSE:An external drug, obtained by incorporating a percutaneous absorption promoter containing an ether compound of a specific glycerol or polyglycerol with an alcohol in a base, and capable of remarkably increasing the percutaneous absorbability of a drug effect component. CONSTITUTION:A percutaneous absorption promoter containing an ether compound of glycerol or polyglycerol with an alcohol expressed by formula I or II(R1-R4 are H, 1-24C saturated or unsaturated straight chain or branched chain aliphatic hydrocarbon, etc.; n R4s may be the same or different except when all R1-R4 are H; n is an integer 0-60) as an active component is contained in a base to enhance the percutaneous absorbability of an external drug. The amount of the promoter to be added is preferably 0.01-5wt% based on the total amount of the external drug. In use thereof as a base, the amount of the promoter to be incorporated may be >=10wt%. The promoter can be formulated in either one of hydrophilic and hydrophobic bases, and a drug effect component sparingly soluble in water can be dissolved in the hydrophilic base in a high concentration.
