    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance heat-resistance, light-resistance, sublimation speed, hue, ribbon stability, and the like, by using an anthraquinone dye of Cyan shown by a specific formula as a dye for sublimation-transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:An anthraquinone dye for sublimation-transfer recording is synthesized by employing a normal method in which 1,5-dichloro-4,8- dihydroxyanthraquinone as a raw material is condensed with anilines. This anthraquinone dye is shown by a formula I (a benzene nucleus A represents one or more alkyl, alkoxy, hydroxyl, trifluoromethyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, carbonyl, carboxy, and phenyl groups, which may be the same or independent). This dye is enhanced in solubility to organic solvent and dispersibility to water and capable of easily preparing a high-density ink.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an image of a sharp yellow color free from fog and good light resistance by incorporating a specified pyridone type dye in a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The binder resin contains one of the pyridone type dye represented by formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is H, halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy; and R3 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, or aralkyl. The addition amount of said dye is controlled in accordance with the electrostatic chargeability of the binder resin, or those of a colorant and additives auxiliary added, compatibility with the resin, dispersion process, and the like, but in general it is preferred to use the dye in an amount of 0.1-10wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title coloring matter excellent in fastness, giving good dyeability and color developability in carrying out, in particular, recording through sublimation transfer by heating with thermal head, consisting of an anthraquinone-based red coloring matter. CONSTITUTION:The objective anthraquinone-based red coloring matter for heat-sensitive sublimation transfer of the formula (R and R are each H, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, or halogen, but when either R or R is H, the other is not H). This coloring matter is incorporated with a resin (e.g. rosin-, phenol-base one) and a solvent (e.g. an alcohol, cellosolve, ketone) to prepare a recording ink, a condenser paper or glassine paper being coated with this ink to form a transfer sheet. The use of this transfer sheet will avoid thermal decomposition during transfer recording, leading to extremely highly reliable record storage because of excellent light resistance of said sheet.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a colored liquid crystal material or a colored organic polymeric material having high solvent stability, high compatibility with binder and high stability against heat and light by coloring the liquid crystal material or the organic polymeric material with a quinophthalone compound having a specified chemical structure. CONSTITUTION:A quinophthalone compound (hereinbelow referred to as a colorant) represented by the formula (wherein R1 is a H, 8 C or lower (branched) alkyl or cycloalkyl; R2 is H, a halogen, a (substituted) alkoxy, alkylthio or (substituted) arylthio; R3 is H or am (un)substituted heterocyclic ring having at least two N, O or S atoms) is used. To produce a liquid crystal composition by using this colorant, the colorant is dissolved in a suitable liquid crystal compound and is sealed in a liquid crystal cell of a thickness of about 10mum pretreated so as to be homogeneously oriented. The amount of the colorant added is about 1.0-3.0-wt.%. To color a resin, the colorant is dissolved in a suitable synthetic resin, and the mixture is molded into any desired shape. A suitable dyeing bath may be used. The amount of the colorant added is 0.01-5wt.%.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain such a material that can be easily worked and satisfies requests for products of small lot and various kinds by using specified dyes having flat transmittance in a visible region and excellent transparency and good heat resistance and light resistance. CONSTITUTION:The dyes are at least six kinds of dyes selected among yellow dyes expressed by formula I, pyridone azo yellow dyes expressed by formula II, and anthraquinone yellow dyes expressed by formula III. In formula I, X1, X2 and X3 are independently hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups, or halogen atoms. In formula II, R1 is a hydrogen atom or alkyl group, R2 is a hydrogen atom, alkyl group which may have substituents, cycloalkyl grlup, allyl group, or phenyl group which may have substituents, and Ar is a phenyl group which may have substituents. In formula III, R3, R4, R5, R3', R4', R5' are same or different hydrogen atoms, halogen atoms, alkyl groups, alkoxycarbonyl groups, or acyloxy groups.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a heat sensitive transfer recording ink composition which possesses high sublimating rate and stability of an image after transfer, by mixing up a specific indoaniline compound and binder resin into an organic solvent and/or water. CONSTITUTION:A heat sensitive transfer recording ink composition is prepared by compounding. agitating and mixing up an indoaniline compound and binder resin represented by a formula I (R1 represents H, a halogen atom and a C1-C4 alkyl group, R3 and R3 represent H and a C1-C4 alkoxy group, R4 and R5 represent H and a C1-C4 alkyl group and R6 and R7 represent an alkyl group and alkenyl group) into an organic solvent and/or water. This ink composition is applied onto a base such as a plastic film and dried, to which a coloring matter carrying layer is laminated and a transfer sheet is obtained. Oily resin such as phenol and aqueous resin such as casein are available as an exemplification of resin and aromatics such as benzene and toluene are available as the exemplification of the solvent to prepare the ink composition.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an ink compsn. containing a sublimable dye having both of a high sublimation speed and image stability after transfer by using a compd. having a specific structure as a dye for thermal transfer recording. CONSTITUTION:An ink compsn. for thermal transfer recording contains a dye for thermal transfer recording represented by formula I, a binder resin and an org. solvent and/or water. In the formula I, R is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group, R and R are H, a 1-4C alkyl group, an alkoxy group or halogen, R -R are H, a 1-4C alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkylcarbonylamino group, an alkoxycarbonylamino group, a formylamino group, an alkylsulfonylamino group or halogen and R and R are H, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group or an aryl group. By using this dye, recording having good color density is obtained at a high sublimation speed.
