Abstract:
A spa is provided including a frame, a shell mounted to the frame defining a basin for holding water, at least one sensor for monitoring a spa component or water condition, a communications interface including a cellular transceiver, and a battery for providing power to the at least one sensor and to the communications interface when the spa is not connected to a power source. The spa also includes a controller in electrical communication with the at least one sensor and the communications interface. The controller is configured to, while the spa is not connected to the power source, receive information from the at least one sensor, process the received information, and cause the communications interface to wirelessly transmit the processed information to a remote source or central server.
Abstract:
A device is provided for controlling the nitric oxide levels within the lungs of a subject. The device comprises a detector for detecting the respiration cycle of the subject and a stimulator for applying an acoustic or vibratory stimulus to the subject. The stimulator is controlled in dependence on the detected respiration cycle. In particular, acoustic stimulation may be provided at the onset of inspiration. In this way, the nitric oxide flow can be controlled in a way to ensure that the paranasal nitric oxide is nearly fully inspired. This provides a higher nitric oxide concentration in the lung/alveoli.
Abstract:
A personal dryer system for efficiently delivering heated air to are enclosed area (such as shower stall or bath tub) for drying the body of an individual after taking a shower, and for other intended uses. The system includes an air blower, air heater, air distribution assembly and air exhaust vent unit with, optional, air pump, all of which are operatively associated with and regulated by a computerized control unit.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing network connectivity and remote monitoring, optimization, and control of pool/spa equipment are provided. “Internet-of-Things” (IoT) functionality is provided for pool and spa equipment in a flexible and cost-effective manner. Network connectivity and remote monitoring/control of pool and spa equipment is provided by various components such as a network communication and local control subsystem installed in pool/spa equipment, and other components. Also disclosed are various control processes (“pool logic”) which can be embodied as software code installed in any of the various embodiments of the present disclosure.
Abstract:
An air massage device 1 provided with airbags 30 which inflate by the supply of air and press against treatment regions of a human body, and an air supply and exhaust device 20 for supplying air to and exhausting air from the airbag 30; the air supply and exhaust device 20 is provided with an air supply means (air pump 21, air supply speed adjustment means 24, and control unit 50) for supplying air to the airbag 30 such that the amount of air supplied to the airbag 30 per unit time gradually increases.
Abstract:
An apparatus and methods for dispensing a sanitized saline solution for rinsing the nasal passages and sinuses. The disclosure includes methods for bulk storage of granular sodium salt mixtures (pH balanced sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate), bulk storage of water, heating and sensing elements, filtering elements, and dispensing elements. The apparatus provides controls for customizing the concentration and temperature of the dispensed saline solution, and provides for dispensing the solution into a delivery device, with a water catch basin and area for drying a delivery device after use.
Abstract:
A method of integrating a relay bank for use with a pool or spa control system includes, establishing an electrical connection between the relay bank and a control panel, discovering the relay bank by a control panel processor, and assigning the relay bank a network address upon discovery thereof. A method of integrating a smart component for use with a pool or spa control system includes, establishing an electrical connection between the smart component and a control panel, discovering the smart component by a control panel processor, and assigning the smart component a network address upon discovery thereof. A method of integrating an expansion panel for use with a pool or spa control system includes, establishing an electrical connection between the expansion panel and a control panel, discovering the expansion panel by a control panel processor, and configuring the expansion panel upon discovery thereof.
Abstract:
A system for performing simultaneous ventilation and resuscitation of a patient includes an oxygen source, at least one inspiration control valve, a breathing apparatus, at least one expiration control valve, at least one indicator, and at least one timer. The breathing apparatus is configured to form an air seal with at least a portion of the patient's respiratory tract such that a gas including oxygen can flow from the oxygen source to the lungs. The at least one expiration control valve being configured to selectively actuate an exhalation valve. The at least one indicator for indicating when a rescuer should perform a chest compression. The at least one timer for synchronizing actuation of the at least one inspiration control valve, the at least one expiration control valve, and the indicator, thereby enabling continuous compressions to be provided to the patient while the patient undergoes inspiration and expiration.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for controlling infrared radiation (IR) sources of a sauna including tuning IR wavelength-ranges and radiated power-levels of IR sources, and directing IR to locations on a user's body. In one illustrative embodiment, a sauna may be provided having adjustable heat sources to emit IR at any wavelength resulting in a desirable radiation treatment for the sauna user. In another illustrative embodiment, a method is provided for tuning IR sources in a sauna.
Abstract:
An apparatus for delivering decompressive energy to soft tissues to stimulate cellular expansion through deep penetration of said applied decompressive energy to said soft tissues to stimulate a predetermined reaction to application of said decompressive energy comprising a vessel having an open end and adapted to encompass the soft tissue to be stimulated. A source of decompressive energy in communication with said vessel and a flexible mass affixed to said open end of said vessel to absorb the pressure exerted by delivery of said decompressive energy to said soft tissue, thereby acting as a seal and force diffuser between said vessel and the soft tissue adjacent the periphery of said vessel.
