Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing an IPC(Inter Processor Communication) message transfer event in a high-speed router system is provided to minimize an IPC message process task and improve the performance of a main processor by gathering associated events, which can be processed in one IP message, among the IPC transfer events generated from sub modules into an IP message and transmitting the IP message. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for processing an IPC message transfer event in a high-speed router system comprises an IPC event management task. The IPC event management task is composed of an event queue table(b2), an event queue manager(b3), and an IPC message processing task(b4). The event queue table(b2) stores IPC event messages. The event queue manager(b3) manages the stored IPC event messages. The IPC message processing task(b4) processes IPC event message fields.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method for automatically measuring a digital broadcasting tuner is provided to perform frequency error connection according to an operation environment accurately and automatically. CONSTITUTION: Initialization for frequency mapping is performed to measure frequency characteristic according to frequency tuning voltage of a tracking filter of each frequency band using a pre-stage of a double frequency conversion tuner(901). The double frequency conversion tuner is measured using a spectrum analyzer(903) for frequency mapping and frequency error correction according to a signal applied to a modulator(900) when the double frequency conversion tuner is normally operated. A digital broadcasting channel signal is applied to the tuner through the modulator to carry out optimization according to a degree of variation in the frequency characteristic.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An ATM-based VC(Virtual Channel)-merge cell classification method is provided to transmits a VC-merged cell stream without any time delay and to reduce the usage of a memory, in executing a VC-merge function in an ATM switch. CONSTITUTION: A VC-merge transmitting scheduler stores received cells in a queue sequentially(401). The VC-merge transmitting scheduler sets the PTI values of the stored cells to "7" so as to discriminate the stored cells from non-merge cells and transmits them sequentially(402). In case that there is no more cell to transmit, the VC-merge transmitting scheduler calculates an empty cell counter, stores this information in a synchronization cell, puts "7" into the PTI value, sets an appointed value to the VCI value, and transmits the synchronization cell to a receiver(403).

PURPOSE: A virtual channel merge application method according to the amount of virtual channel label use is provided to receive a network enlargement side and reduce a delay problem by a cell interleaving. CONSTITUTION: When a virtual channel request signal is received at the upper layer, it is discriminated whether a system applies a VC(Virtual Channel)-merge. Thereafter, the size(SN) of VC label allocation region of a port for outputting the input VPI(Virtual Path Identifier)/VCI(Virtual Channel Identifier) is compared to a lower critical value(T1)(31). If the size(SN) of VC label allocation region of the port is larger than the lower critical value(T1), the size(SN) of VC label allocation region of a port is compared with the upper critical value(T2)(32). If the size(SN) of VC label allocation region of a port is larger than the upper critical value(T2), the VC-merge does not operated(34).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for exchanging an IPC(Inter Processor Communication) message using an ethernet switching device are provided to install the ethernet switching device in a module matching backplane of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) switch, construct an IPC message dedicated star ethernet network, and transmit and receive the IPC message using an ethernet switching method. CONSTITUTION: An ethernet switching device(112) switches a path of an IPC ethernet frame transmitted from a transmission side processor and transmits the IPC ethernet frame to a receipt side processor. Each processor connects to a star ethernet network centering around the ethernet switching device(112). The ethernet switching device(112) is embedded in a main processor module(110).
