    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a nouaqueous secondary battery whose increase in internal resistance is low even in the long term use and overdischarge recovery performance is good by fixing a positive electrode onto the inner surface of an outer can through a polymer layer in which fine carbon powder is dispersed. CONSTITUTION:When a positive electrode, a negative electrode, an electrolyte, and other constituting materials are accommodated in an outer can, the positive electrode 1 is fixed onto the inner surface of the outer can 3 through a polymer layer 2 in which fine carbon powder is dispersed. As the polymer base material of the polymer layer 2 which is stable to the electrolyte and also stable electrochemically, polyaniline is used to ensure adhesion between the positive electrode 1 and the outer can 3. As the fine carbon powder mixed with the polymer base material, a material, which is unreactive with the electrolyte in the voltage range of battery operation, such as conductive carbon black, graphite powder, and a mixture of them is used.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a nonaqueous electrolytic battery of an excellent initial discharge property and an excellent long preservation property by making the moisture in a positive electrode and the lithium in a negative electrode react gradually in a battery container, and reducing the moisture containing amount of the positive electrode less than 1/3 the initial amount, after the battery is assembled. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode using a conductive high polymer such as polyaniline including the moisture at the ratio more than 3000ppm and less than 50000ppm, preferably more than 3000ppm and less than 30000ppm, as the active substance, a negative electrode including lithium of such as a lithium metal, a lithium alloy, or a lithium-carbon composite, a nonaqueous electrolyte, and some other component member are assembled in a battery container. And the moisture of the positive electrode and the lithium in the negative electrode are made react gradually in the battery container, and the amount of the including moisture in the positive electrode is reduced less than 1/3 the initial amount, more faborably less than 1/10. As a result, the dehydration process of the conductive high polymer substance can be simplified. Consequently, the battery can be formed in a good working efficiency, and the battery capacity such as the initial discharge property, the long period preservation property, and the like can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a battery with high capacity and suppress the manufacturing cost by driving an electrode fixing member of metal having a boss into an electrode, and by joining the electrode with a shell electrically. CONSTITUTION:An electrode fixing member 6 is made in the form of a wedge and has a boss at each end, and is used for at least either of the positive and negative electrodes. For example the fixing member 6 is driven into the positive electrode 3, which is connected with the body 1 of a shell electrically through the fixing member 6. This connection is accomplished only by driving fixing member 6 in simple construction, so that the manufacturing cost is suppressed. Because the inner capacity of the body 1 can be used wastelessly, a large quantity of battery contents can be accommodated to achieve a battery with high capacity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce internal resistance of a battery while obtaining a stabilized electrical lead of a battery by making the surface of a metallic electricity collector body facing a battery case partially exposed without being covered with a cathode and by securing the surface to the internal surface of the battery case. CONSTITUTION:A metallic electricity collector body 2 made of stainless steel mesh is integrally embedded in a cathode 3 made of aluminum as a metal capable of making an alloy with lithium and lithium-aluminum alloy. A part 2a of the metallic electricity collecting body 2 is made to be exposed without being covered with the cathode and is welded to the inner surface of a cathode can 1 made of stainless steel. The body 2 is made into an integral body together with the cathode can 1 holding the cathode 3 and the body 2 with a gasket 4 with its surface coated with a sealing agent interposed, and the edge portion 5a of the anode can 5 is sealed by crimping. This makes it possible to securely maintain an electric lead condition between the cathode and the inner surface of a battery case and no internal resistance rise is produced even when the battery is used as a secondary battery for a long period of time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To lengthen a life of charge and discharge cycles by using, as a separator, a combined material of polypropylene porous film and a polypropylene nonwoven fabric sheet containing glass fibers. CONSTITUTION:In the secondary battery provided with a positive electrode 3 and a negative electrode 5 made of a conductive high molecular material, nonaqueous electrolytic solution which lies between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a separator 7 which partitions off the positive and the negative electrodes, the separator 7 shall have a multilayered structure of polypropylene porous films A and polypropylene nonwoven fabric sheets B containing glass fibers. The separator 7 which is a combined material of polypropylene porous films A and polypropylene nonwoven fabric sheets B containing glass fibers is suited to a battery for which a positive electrode 3 of conductive high molecular material and nonaqueous electrolytic solution are used, and a battery with excellent characteristics in discharge capacity and cycle life length can be obtained. Thus this invention can be effectively utilized for small sized secondary batteries such as coin type or cylinder type secondary batteries.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make steady electrical contact possible for a long time by fixing a conductive organic polymer electrode to an outer can directly or through a current collector. CONSTITUTION:A coin type battery is formed in such a way that a positive electrode 3, a negative electrode 4, and a separator 5 impregnated with electrolyte containing dopant are accommodating in outer cans 1a, 1b, then cans 1a and 1b are sealed via a gasket 2. A current collector 6 uses stainless steel mesh as it is which was used as an electrode in electrolytical polymerization of the positive electrode (polyaniline) 3 to keep close contact with the positive electrode 3. The current collector 6 is fixed to the outer can 1a by spotwelding 7. A negative current collector 8 made of stainless steel mesh is fixed to a negative electrode (Al-Li alloy) 4 by spot-welding, then fixed to the outer can 1b by spot-welding 9. Thereby, a battery having steady electrical contact can be obtained.
