Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent reduction in a throughput as a whole by preventing useless consumption of ink in the equipment having the mode recording received image data and the mode recording data inputted externally. CONSTITUTION:The equipment is provided with a 1st mode receiving image data sent from an opposite party and driving a print head 205 depending on the received image data to record the image a 2nd mode receiving image data from an external equipment such as a host computer and driving the print head 205 depending on the image data to record the image. Then a footer mark is recorded to a tail end of recording paper after image recording of one page in the 1st mode and it is sensed by a footer sensor 207 and ink residual amount sensing is made by checking the presence of ink depending on the result of detection. However, in the 2nd mode, the ink residual amount is not detected.

After one scanning of picture data is sent, whether or not data to be printed are all sent is judged (S15). If the transmission is ended, a paper ejecting command is sent (S16) and printing is ended.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To fruitfully control LCD pictures by allowing a main CPU to interrupt a sub-CPU respectively and triggering the sub-CPU by the interruption to make an LCD display. CONSTITUTION:The main CPU 1 initiates an LCD display start interruption to the sub-CPU 2. The sub-CPU 2 when receiving the interruption command copies all of a command sequence that the main CPU 1 writes in a common RAM 3 to a work area. Then the sub-CPU 2 sets the command array, which is in the work area, in a command address and analyzes the total number of the commands. After the commands from the main CPU 1 are all executed, a normal end status is written in the response area of the common RAM 3, an end interruption to the main CPU 1 is caused, and the LCD display operation is ended.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely and quickly operate function selecting buttons by providing plural pieces of the function selecting buttons and performing the display of three stages which are 'not-selected', 'selected' and 'during selection' by the states of the function selecting buttons. CONSTITUTION:The various kinds of the function selecting buttons 11-14 for resolution selection and density selection, etc., and an LCD part 15 for indicating the selection states are provided in an operation part 6. The LCD part 15 is arranged at a close position along with the buttons 11-14 and is divided into four display areas 15a-15d corresponding to the buttons 11-14. Prescribed pictographs for indicating 'selection,' 'not-selected and 'during selection' are corresponded and displayed based on the operation of the buttons 11-14 in the respective display areas. Also, when the selection state is undefined even though the function selecting button is pressed, 'during selection' is displayed and when the 'not-selected' is turned to 'during selection,' the display of 'selected' or 'during selection' is automatically changed to the display of 'not-selected.' Thus, the function selecting buttons can be surely and quickly operated.
