Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stick-type ignition coil wherein a secondary coil in the internal circumferential side and a primary coil in the external circumferential side are allocated coaxially, the thickness of insulating resin between these coils is constant, and a fine secondary coil is not easily damaged, and also to provide an assembling method of this stick-type ignition coil. SOLUTION: The stick type ignition coil is formed of a center core 11, the secondary coil 13 allocated in the external circumferential side of the center core 11 and formed by winding the secondary coil 15 to a cylindrical secondary spool 14, the primary coil 21 allocated in the external circumferential side and formed by winding the primary coil 23 to a cylindrical primary spool 22, and a coil case 25 allocated in the external circumferential side thereof. In this ignition coil, positioning portions 19, 41 for positioning the end 61 of a core-adjusting member 65 for adjusting the core of the secondary coil and the primary coil are formed at the center of one end of the secondary spool. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an engine capable of reducing wear of connection part due to engine vibration. SOLUTION: Since a spring 42 has a smaller winding diameter at both ends 42a and 42b than a winding diameter at a center part 42c, a spring load of the spring 42 is increased to reduce contact resistances at a connection part of one end 42a of the spring 42 with a high-tension terminal 41 and a connection part of another end 42b of the spring 42 with a coil side terminal 111 of an ignition plug 110. Consequently, wear of the connection parts of the spring 42 with the high-tension terminal 41 and the ignition plug 110 from engine vibration can be reduced to prevent disturbing conduction of very small electric current such as ion current and to make detection of very small electric current easy. Misjudgment with an ignition monitor utilizing change of very small electric current in a secondary side can be prevented. Desired high voltage thereby can be applied to the ignition plug 110.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil on which the breaking of wire material can be prevented even when temperature change is repeated and dielectric breakdown can be prevented. SOLUTION: The protruding part 34 formed on a cover part 30 is arcuately shaped on the opposite side in radial direction of both coils against a terminal 32. The protruding part 34 comes in contact with the end part of on the low voltage side of an outer circumferential core 25, and it presses the outer circumferential core 25 to the side of the erastic member 26 which is on high voltage side. As the cover part 30 is formed separately from both spools, even when cracks are generated on the protruding part 34 by the difference in line expression coefficient of the cover part 30 and the other circumferential core 25, the cracks can be prevented from extending to the spool and the coil. Accordingly, the breaking of wire of wire material in the ignition coil can be prevented, and also the dielectric breakdown on the low voltage side on the circumference of the ignition coil can be prevented.

SOLUTION: In an ignition coil, an outer peripheral core 25 is not in direct contact with an epoxy resin 26, because the inner peripheral corner of the end section of the core 25 positioned on the higher voltage side of a secondary coil 21 is covered with a corner member 50, and the inner peripheral corner of the end section of the core 25 on the lower voltage side is covered with another corner member 55. Each corner member 50 (55) is composed of a rubber ring 51 (56) and a metallic ring 52 (57). Therefore, the ignition coil can generate a desired high voltage by preventing the occurrence of cracks in the epoxy resin 36 near the inner peripheral corners of both end sections of the core 25. In addition, the corner member 50 (55) can be assembled easily, by the reinforcement of the metallic ring 52 (57) to the member 50 (55), because the member 50 (57) is not deformed.
