PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator including a movable member having a support frame configured to oscillate about a first oscillation axis and a mirror fixed to the support frame such that the mirror is oscillated by the oscillation of the support frame, a coil which cooperates with the support frame, and a boundary part provided between the support frame and the mirror for reducing influence of warp transmitted from an edge of the support frame to the mirror as the support frame oscillates about the first oscillation axis, for which the support frame further includes a notched area.SOLUTION: In the actuator, the notched area is configured to be parallel to at least a portion of the coil, to reduce stress on the coil as the support frame oscillates about the first oscillation axis and/or to reduce temperature dependence of properties of the actuator.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodiode located to reduce influence of harmful light.SOLUTION: An optical device comprises: a plurality of light sources 3a, 3b, 3c generating light beams; a beam combiner 7 which combines the light beams from the plurality of light sources to generate a combined light beam; a beam splitter 11 which receives the combined light beam and splits it into a primary light beam and a secondary light beam, where one or more characteristics of the secondary light beam are indicative of one or more characteristics of the primary light beam, and comprises a first surface 17 through which the primary light beam passes and a second surface 19 through which the secondary light beam passes; a mirror component 21 which can reflect the primary light beam emitted from the first surface of the beam splitter and scan the primary light beam; and a photodiode which detects characteristics of the secondary light beam, and is located not parallel to the first surface or second surface, to reduce the amount of harmful light which is directed to the mirror.
