    Abstract: A screening method of pigmentation regulatory agents by using zebrafish(Danio rerio) is provided to screen a large quantity of materials capable of increasing or inhibiting melanin formation as pigmentation regulatory agents easily and rapidly by determining various biological parameters from zebrafish. A screening method of pigmentation regulatory agents by using zebrafish comprises the steps of: administering a candidate pigmentation regulatory agent into an embryo of zebrafish; and detecting the reactions of zebrafish including expression amount of melanin formation, and in vivo activity, expression amount or transition amount of proteins associated with melanin formation, wherein the screening method optionally comprises a detecting step of toxicity of the candidate material by measuring morphological change or heartbeat number.
