Abstract: A contact terminal for sockets for electrical connection between a connection section made of a metal conductor on a printed board and a connection terminal of an IC package. The contact terminal comprises a metal terminal composed of a main column portion and arm portions on both sides and having an angular U shape and an elastomer member attached to the metal terminal. A metal surface is exposed from the outer surface of each arm portion. The elastomer member is firmly held between the arm portions of the metal terminal and exhibits a repulsive force when the arm portions are pressed in the direction that the arm portions approach each other.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A front-back connection type connector is provided to absorb non-uniformity of a contact height or non-uniformity of a connection terminal height. CONSTITUTION: An insulating member(1) has an insulating base member(2) and an elastomer(3). The elastomer is integrally formed in both sides(2b,2c) of the insulating base member. A through hole is formed along a thickness direction of the elastomer and the insulating base member. A conductive member is formed in an inner surface of the through hole. Both end parts of the conductive member are exposed in the both sides of the insulating base member. A connection terminal part(7) is prepared in one end of the conductive member.
