PURPOSE: A side airbag for a vehicle is provided to reduce the probability of abnormal spreading by completely spreading an airbag cushion and to standardize the spreading ability by obtaining the identical starting point to spread. CONSTITUTION: A side airbag for a vehicle comprises an airbag module(100) and a starting tether(500). One end(520) of the starting tether is connected to a sewing line(300) inside a seat side unit(S) and the other end(540) is extended to pass through a lateral side of the airbag module and fixed to the inside the seat side unit. One end locally cuts the sewing line by an expansive force of a cushion to smoothly spread the cushion.

PURPOSE: An OCS(Occupant Classification System) for a vehicle is provided to ensure improved occupant classification performance by applying electric fields created by two electrodes only on the top of a seat. CONSTITUTION: An OCS for a vehicle includes a heater part and an occupant classification sensor(10). The heater part is located under a seat cover. The occupant classification sensor is installed on the top of the heater part and senses an occupant. In the occupant classification sensor, two electrodes(11,13) are arranged side by side on the same plane.

CONSTITUTION: A housing for a airbag comprises a main panel(110), a mounting panel(120) and front and rear panels(140,150). The air bag module puts on the main panel. The mounting panel is extended to a cowl crossbar(300) from both side of the main panel. The front panel is upward extended from the front side of the main panel. The rear panel is downward extended from the rear side of the main panel. The main panel, mounting panel, front panel and rear panel are integrally formed.

PURPOSE: A passenger identification apparatus for a vehicle, which supplies DC and AC voltage to a passenger sensor and a seat heater by alternative switching, is provided to prevent simultaneous supply of DC and AC voltage and protect a passenger sensor from the electric field formed by DC voltage. CONSTITUTION: A passenger identification apparatus for a vehicle comprises first and second power supply units, a passenger sensor unit(140), a seat heater unit(120), and first and second switches. The first power supply unit outputs AC voltage and the second power supply unit outputs DC voltage. The capacitance of the passenger sensor unit is changed with the AC voltage component of the first power supply unit according to the electric permittivity of a passenger. The seat heater part generates heat with the DC voltage component of the second power supply unit. The first switch is connected between the first power supply unit and the passenger sensor unit and the second switch is switched alternately with the first switch.

PURPOSE: An air bag cushion of a driver's seat and a folding method is provided to prevent a driver from being shocked using the air bag cushion which is inflated from a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: The upper part of an air bag cushion(100) is rearward folded at least once. The bottom part of the air bag cushion is forward folded at least once. The end part of the air bag cushion is inserted into a space between the front side and the back side of the air bag cushion. A longitudinal end of the air bag cushion is folded at least once.
