    Abstract: PURPOSE: An anticancer compound isolated from Asparagus oligoclonos Maxim. and a purification method thereof are provided. The isolated compound has improved anticancer activity. CONSTITUTION: An anticancer compound is isolated from Asparagus oligoclonos Maxim, and includes (25S)-5β-spirostan-3β, 17α-diol-3-0-β- D-xylopyranosyl-(1→2)- £α -L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)|-β- D-glucopyranoside represented by formula 1.
