Abstract: PURPOSE: An ethanol extract of Actinidia arguta and an antioxidative fraction are provided to ensure excellent antioxidation efficiency with DPPH radical removal, ABTS radical removal, and SOD-like activity, and to be used as an antioxidative drug, a cosmetic product, and a functional food composition. CONSTITUTION: An ethanol extract of Actinidia arguta has antioxidative activity. Actinidia arguta includes Actinidia arguta leaves or stems. The ethanol extract is an oxidative fraction of a solvent selected from the group consisting of n-hexane, chloroform, n-butanol, and aqueous. The fraction contains a flavonoid-based compound of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The fraction contains a phenol-based compound of chemical formula 2 or 3 as an active ingredient.
