Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for forming coating film and spin chuck are provided to prevent radial transcription mark from being generated on a substrate and damage of the substrate by sticking the substrate securely. CONSTITUTION: A photo-resist coating/vacuum drying unit is one of the performing modes of a film forming device, and the film forming device employs a holding plate(40a) capable of sucking and holding a substrate(G) in a roughly horizontal state, a rotary device rotating the holding plate, a depression and suction device which makes the holding plate to suck and hold the substrate, and a photo-resist solution discharge nozzle to supply a photo-resist solution to the substrate which is held by the holding plate. On the surface of the holding plate, annular suction grooves(81a-81f) are formed concentrically. Linear suction grooves(84) are connected with the annular suction grooves, and formed non-radially.
