Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing apidaecin as an active ingredient for preventing and treating Edwardsiellosis in fish is provided to ensure specific and efficient antibacterial activities through a bacteriostatic mechanism without membrane selectivity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating Edwardsiellosis in fish contains apidaecin as an active ingredient. The apidaecin is an apidaecin Ib with an amino acid sequence of the number 2. The composition is provided in the form of a feed additive. A method for preventing and treating Edwardsiellosis in fish comprises a step of administering apidaecin to the fish.
