PURPOSE: A composition containing apidaecin as an active ingredient for preventing and treating Edwardsiellosis in fish is provided to ensure specific and efficient antibacterial activities through a bacteriostatic mechanism without membrane selectivity. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating Edwardsiellosis in fish contains apidaecin as an active ingredient. The apidaecin is an apidaecin Ib with an amino acid sequence of the number 2. The composition is provided in the form of a feed additive. A method for preventing and treating Edwardsiellosis in fish comprises a step of administering apidaecin to the fish.

PURPOSE: A novel calcitonin-relating peptide(SF-calcitonin) with relaxation activity is provided to ensure relaxation activity to DRM(dorsal retractor muscle). CONSTITUTION: A novel calcitonin-relating peptide(SF-CT) with relaxation activity of smooth muscle has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. SF-CT is isolated from Asterina pectinifera. SF-CT is obtained by preparing methanol-acid extract from Asterina pectinifera, purifying by CM52 anion exchange resin column chromatography, and isolating through HPLC system. SF-CT has homology with calcitonin.

A neuropeptide having relaxing activity of smooth muscle is provided to improve smooth muscle-relaxing activity, and reduce the number of amino acids, so that the neuropeptide is mass produced. The neuropeptide having relaxing activity of smooth muscle has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein the C-terminal is carboxylated or amidated and the amine group of N-terminal is substituted by alkyl or acetyl group; the amino acid sequence is L-type and/or D-type. A nucleic acid containing DNA or RNA encodes the neuropeptide of SEQ ID NO:2. A recombinant vector contains the nucleic acid. The neuropeptide having relaxing activity of smooth muscle is produced by transforming bacterium, yeast or fungus with the recombinant vector, and culturing the transformed microorganism. A composition is used for improving at least one symptom selected from bronchial asthma, hypertension, diuresis and impotence.
