Abstract: A method for remotely inputting by using a fingerprint sensor is provided to control various functions installed at a main apparatus by wirelessly transmitting fingerprint data to the main apparatus through an assistant inputting unit. A method for remotely inputting by using a fingerprint sensor comprises the following several steps. A main apparatus sets a fingerprint inputting mode at a user's request and displays a key inputting part, a menu image and an indicator in accordance with a current operation mode on a display screen(101-105). A remote inputting unit, having the fingerprint sensor, generates fingerprint data in real time if the user touches a finger on the fingerprint sensor, and transmits the fingerprint data to the main apparatus via a wireless NFC(Near Field Communication) scheme(107). The main apparatus receives the fingerprint data, checks the kind of the fingerprint by referring to preset fingerprint data, and extracts a user inputting pattern in accordance with the checked kind of the fingerprint and the received fingerprint data(109). The main apparatus performs a preset operation matched with the extracted user inputting pattern(111-117).
