Abstract: An LCD is provided to reduce the thickness and the manufacturing cost of a biaxial film or a uniaxial film, by attaching the biaxial film on the outside of one of two substrates and the uniaxial film on the outside of the other of the two substrates. Abstract: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent light leakage and improve color rendering by arranging a lower optical film, which contains a biaxial film, below a PVA(Patterned Vertical Alignment)-mode liquid crystal panel. An LCD comprises an upper polarizing film(400), a lower polarizing film(700), a liquid crystal panel(1000), and a biaxial film(800). The upper polarizing film has the first polarizing axis. The lower polarizing film has the second polarizing axis. The liquid crystal panel, arranged between the upper polarizing film and the lower polarizing film, comprises a plurality of unit pixels, gate lines, and data lines. Each of the unit pixels comprises a TFT and a pixel capacitor. Each gate line and data line are connected to each TFT. One unit pixel is divided into a plurality of sub pixel areas. A domain control pattern is formed at the center of each sub pixel area. The biaxial film is arranged between the lower polarizing film and the liquid crystal panel. An upper retardation film(500) is placed between the upper polarizing film and the liquid crystal panel. Also a lower retardation film(900) is located between the biaxial film and the liquid crystal panel.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device and a test method thereof are provided to supply test data voltage and test common voltage by using an outer voltage suppliers to measure gamma characteristics of the liquid crystal display device and correct the gamma, thereby improving the quality of the device. The outer voltage supplier, formed at the circuit substrate, supplies test data voltage and test common voltage to the panel driving circuit. The signal selecting part supplies a select signal of controlling the switching part. Thereby, the gamma characteristics of the liquid crystal display device are measured and the gamma is corrected easily.
