Abstract: Disclosed are a display device and a method for setting channels. The display device according to the present invention comprises: a tuner unit for searching for broadcasting channels; a display unit for displaying a channel list created based on the searched broadcasting channels; and a control unit for determining whether identical broadcasting channels exist among the searched broadcasting channels, and displaying a broadcasting channel providing a high definition broadcasting signal among the identical broadcasting channels to be separated from another broadcasting channel when identical broadcasting channels exist. As a result, the display device allows a user to easily select a broadcast channel providing a high definition broadcasting signal among available broadcasting channels.
