Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for providing a service of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) to get back a lost MS(Mobile Station) is provided to furnish an owner of the lost MS with loss information, such as location data, remaining battery capacity data and the last originated number of the lost MS, so as to get back the lost MS more quickly. CONSTITUTION: An owner of a lost MS reports the loss(20). An MSC cuts off an originating call of the MS(22). The MSC transmits a paging signal to the MS(24). If the MS is turned on(26), the MS transmits location data signals to the MSC(28). The MSC detects the location data of the MS(30). The MSC requests remaining battery capacity data to the MS(32). The MS calculates a remaining battery capacity(34) and transmits the calculated data to the MSC(36). If the other MS requests a call to the lost MS(38), the MSC transmits an announcement message to the other MS to check whether to use loss information(40). If the other MS requests the loss information(44), the MSC requests a password of the lost MS(46).
