    Abstract: PURPOSE: A cedar wood discoloration controlling method is provided to improve the timber weather ability of cedar wood by transferring terpenes, lignans and flavonoids to a splint wood. CONSTITUTION: A cedar wood discoloration controlling method comprises a step of thermal processing or light processing the surface of cedar wood including a black core to reduce the color difference of the cedar wood. The thermal processing is selected from a heat-drying, a vacuum drying, and a hot water treatment. The light processing is a UV processing. The hot water treatment is processed under the condition of the temperature less than 100 deg C.
