PURPOSE: A transcription factor OsbHLH148 gene isolated from Oryza sativa is provided to obtain a plant with tolerance to various stresses including drought. CONSTITUTION: A transcription factor OsbHLH148(Oryza sativa basic helix-loop-helix 148) protein which regulates the expression of genes which is derived from Oryza sativa and relates to stress tolerance contains an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. A gene encoding the protein contains a base of sequence number 1. A method for enhancing tolerance to environmental stress of a plant comprises a step of transforming plant cells with a recombinant vector containing the gene and a step of overexpressing the gene. A composition for enhancing tolerance to environmental stress of a plant contains the gene encoding the protein.

PURPOSE: A dwarf type plant and a size adjusting method of plants using an arabidopsis thaliana gene are provided to display increasing effects of gardening income by introducing ornamental plants. CONSTITUTION: A dwarf type plant is obtained by being transformed into a recombinant plant expression vector which includes At4g29140 gene consisting of the base sequence described in the sequence number 1. The dwarf type accumulates large amount of flavonoid within cytoplasm. The plant is a dicotyledonous plant. The dicotyledonous plant is arabidopsis thaliana. A manufacturing method of the dwarf type plant comprises the following step: overly-expressing the At4g29140 gene by transforming the plant cell by using the recombinant plant expression vector. The dwarf type plant manufacturing composition includes the At4g29140 gene consisting of the base sequence described in the sequence number 1.

PURPOSE: A method for controlling plant size and a plant of dwarf type are provided to inactivate brassinosteroid and to produce plant of dwarf type. CONSTITUTION: A transformed plant of dwarf type is obtained by a recombinant plant expression vector containing a gene encoding Arabidopsis thaliana-derived acyltransferase. The gene is BIA(Brassinosteroid InActivator) gene. The plant is dicotyledonous plant, Arabidopsis thaliana. The gene has a nucleotide of sequence number 1.

CONSTITUTION: A method for reducing the activity of CLF(curly leaf) protein of a plant comprises a step of transforming a recombinant vector containing Arabidopsis thaliana-derivative UCL1(upward curly leaf1) gene into plant cells and a step of overexpressing the UCL1 gene. The UCL1 gene has a base sequence of sequence number 1. The plant is a dicotyledonous plant. A composition for reducing CLF protein activity of a plant contains the UCL1 gene.
