Abstract: An antibacterial furanone derivative is provided to function as a quorum sensing antagonist, which interrupts communication among bacteria due to a chemical structure similar to a material used for the communication of the bacteria, thereby being used for preventing formation of a biofilm. A method for preventing formation of a biofilm comprises a step of contacting an antibacterial furanone derivative represented by a formula(1)(wherein R is C1-10 alkyl or C1-10 haloalkyl) with microorganism to inhibit the formation of the biofilm, wherein the antibacterial furanone derivative is represented by a formula(2), (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) or (8) and the microorganism includes Gram negative bacillus.

Abstract translation: 提供抗菌呋喃酮衍生物作为法定感测拮抗剂，其由于与用于细菌通信的材料类似的化学结构而中断细菌之间的交流，从而用于防止生物膜的形成。 防止生物膜形成的方法包括使由式（1）表示的抗菌呋喃酮衍生物（其中R为C 1-10烷基或C 1-10卤代烷基）与微生物接触以抑制生物膜形成的步骤，其中 抗菌呋喃酮衍生物由式（2），（3），（4），（5），（6），（7）或（8）表示，微生物包括革兰氏阴性杆菌。
