Abstract: PURPOSE: A novel phosphorus compound and a flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition containing the same are provided to enhance anti-hydrolysis property and thermal resistance. CONSTITUTION: A phosphorus compound is denoted by chemical formula 1. A method for preparing the phosphorus compound of chemical formula 1 comprises: a step of reacting phosphorus oxychloride and a compound of chemical formula 2; and a step of reacting a reactant with hydroquinone. A flame retardant thermoplastic resin composition contains 0.1-50 weight parts of the phosphorus compound and 100 weight part of thermoplastic resin. The thermoplastic resin is polycarbonate resin.
