The optical media includes a disc substrate (36) having a formatted surface (38) and a center hole (42). A disc alignment mechanism (40) is provided, wherein the concentric registration of the formatted surface is specified relative to the disc alignment mechanism. A hub (44) having a center hole (46) is positioned at the disc center hole, wherein the hub center hole is centered relative to the disc alignment mechanism. The disc drive includes a drive spindle (30) and a center pin (32) extending from the drive spindle for centering the drive spindle to the optical media.

본 발명은 자전 고온 반응 합성법에 의해 B 2 O 3 , C, Mg의 혼합물로 부터 B 4 C 분말을 제조할 때 동반되는 과량의 MgO을 유용한 Mg화합물로 회수하는 방법에 관한 것으로, B 4 C분말을 B 2 O 3 (또는 H 3 BO 3 )와 탄소 분말에 Mg분말을 혼합하여 SHS 방법에 의하여 제조함에 있어서, 반응 생성물을 증류수 또는 알콜로 세척하여 미반응 B 2 O 3 (또는 H 3 BO 3 )을 제거하고, 미반응 B 2 O 3 (또는 H 3 BO 3 )이 제거된 반응 생성물을 묽은 황산에 분산시킨 후 일정 시간 교반하여 미반응 Mg와 반응 생성물의 MgO를 황산과 반응시킨 후 필터로 B 4 C를 분리하고, B 4 C가 분리된 여과액을 농축시켜 결정상의 MgSO 4 ·nH 2 O를 얻는 것으로 이루어지는 자전 고온반응 합성법에 의한 탄화붕소 분말 제조시 부산물 MgO의 환경 친화적 분리 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명에 의하면 비교적 간단한 공정에 의하여, 자전 고온 반응 합성법에 의해 B 2 O 3 , C, Mg의 혼합물로 부터 B 4 C 분말을 제조할 때 동반되는 과량의 MgO로부터 비료 성분인 결정상의 MgSO 4 을 얻을 수 있어 자원 재활용이 가능하고, 종래의 MgO 처리 방법인 폐산 처리에서 발생되는 환경 오염을 방지할 수 있게 된다.

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for environmentally friendly isolating magnesium oxide, which is produced from manufacturing of CB4 powder using B2O3, C and Mg by a self-propagation high temperature synthesis method. Thereby, MgO is effectively separated and can be recycled. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) washing reaction products of B2O3, C and Mg with distilled water or alcohol to remove unreacted B2O3; (ii) after dispersing the resultant products of the step (i) in dilute sulfuric acid, stirring them to react the unreacted Mg and MgO of the reaction product with the sulfuric acid; (iii) filtering the resultant products of the step (ii) to separate CB4; and (iv) concentrating the filtrate of the step (iii) to obtain crystalline MgSO4·nH2O.

PURPOSE: A ceramics-aluminium complex and its preparation method are provided, to homogenize the internal structure and to inhibit the formation of unnecessary phases, thereby to improve the physical properties of the complex. CONSTITUTION: The ceramics-aluminium complex is prepared by adding 0.1-3 wt% of alumina sol into the ceramic powder dispersed in distilled water to coat the surface of ceramic powder, thereby to improve the wetting; drying the ceramic powder to form molded products; optionally heat treating the molded products at the temperature of 1200 deg.C or more under vacuum or inert gas atmosphere; and infiltrating 35-50 vol% of aluminium into the molded products at 1,000-1,250 deg.C under vacuum or inert gas of atmospheric pressure. The ceramic powder is selected from B4C, TiB2, TiC, B4C-TiB2, or B4C-Al2O3.
