Abstract: PURPOSE: A new use of an urushiol-based compound and Rhus verniciflua extract as an anti cancer drug, antiviral agent and antioxidant and method for producing the same from Rhus verniciflua are provided. Therefore, the compound can be used as an anti cancer drug, antiviral agent, antioxidant and antifungal agent. CONSTITUTION: The Rhus verniciflua extract for anticancer drug contains one or more compounds selected from 3-pentadecylcatechol of formula 1, 3-£8'(Z)-pentadecenyl|catechol of formula 2, 3-£8'(Z), 11'(Z)-pentadecadienyl|catechol of formula 3 and 3-£8'(Z), 11'(Z), 13'-pentadecatrienyl|catechol of formula 4 obtained by extracting bark of Rhus verniciflua or sap with an organic solvent.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An extract of Dendropanax Morbifera Lev extracted with a lower alcohol and fractioned with hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol is useful as an anti-oxidation and anti-cancer agent and applicable to functional medicine, food additives, beverage additives and health foods. CONSTITUTION: The sap or bark of Dendropanax Morbifera Lev is extracted with methanol and fractioned sequentially with organic solvents such as hexane, ethyl acetate and butanol. The hexane or ethyl acetate fraction of the Dendropanax Morbifera Lev is dissolved in toluene and then fractioned by silica gel column chromatography, ODS intermediate pressure column chromatography or cepadex column chromatography to obtain an extract of Dendropanax Morbifera Lev having anti-oxidation and anti-cancer ativities.
