    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are a polyarylene-based compound and a polymer thereof, which are identical in structure and are soluble into organic solvents, and thus are applicable to electronic elements such as electroluminescence(EL) elements. CONSTITUTION: The polyarylene-based compound and the polymer thereof are each represented by the formula 1, wherein each of R1, R2, R1' and R2' is the same or different and is a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, aromatic or aliphatic alkyl and alkoxy group, aryl group or aryloxy group, alkyl and aryl derivatives of silicone, tin or germanium and halogen atom; Ar1 or Ar2 are the same or different, and may include hydrogen, trimethylsilyl, bromine and alkyl and represents an aromatic group such as phenyl, naphthyl and derivatives thereof; and each of Ar and Ar' is an arylene group selected from the group consisting of phenylene, naphthalene, anthracene, fluorene, thiophene, pyrrole, pyridine, aryloxadiazole, triazole, carbazole, arylamine, arylsilane and derivatives thereof; m is 0 or 1; and n is 1.
