Abstract: PURPOSE: A game apparatus and method using an augment reality technique are provided to display realistic game images for game users. CONSTITUTION: The game apparatus using an augmented reality technique comprises: a tracker(10) for obtaining information related to a location and postures of a user using an augmented reality game; a grasses-type HMD(20) for displaying a three-dimensional picture and providing character information and 3D graphic information to the game user; an immersion-type monitor(30) for providing a picture using a plurality of monitors to provide a realistic image; an AR image system(40) for receiving information related to the location and postures of the game user from the tracker, and providing additional information for the augmented reality game to the grasses-type HMD; and a game image system(50) for providing a picture for the augmented reality game to the monitor.

Abstract: A communication among participants in on-line virtual environments is disclosed. The communication with reality among the participants is effected in the diverse virtual environments such as an on-line game, chatting, etc., by converting a text message from a specified person into a speech having its own tone during the text message communication among the participants, and by reproducing the converted message through a receiver's speaker with a sound effect added thereto. The on-line communication by speech among the participants is effected without affecting the load of the network by converting the text message received in a user terminal into the speech using a text-to-speech converter, and by reproducing the converted speech through the speaker. By adopting a three dimensional (3D) stereophonic sound technique considering a positional relation between the message sender and receiver and the sound effect using the environment of the virtual space where the receiver currently exists, the communication can be effected by speech with reality and in a distinctive manner against the other participants.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and method for correcting image distortion on an arbitrary projection plane are provided to automatically correct distortion generated when contents are displayed on the arbitrary projection plane. CONSTITUTION: An image distortion correcting system includes a projector(20), a CCD(Charge Coupled Device) camera(30), a frame grabber(49), a projection structured light module, a 2-path rendering module(42), and a display. The projector displays contents provided by a contents generating module(41) and a moire image on an arbitrary projection plane. The CCD camera takes a picture of the moire image. The frame grabber stores the moire image photographed by the CCD camera. The projection structured light module extracts a model of the projection plane from the moire image data stored in the frame grabber. The 2-path rendering module stores the contents of the contents generating module as textures, projects the textures on the model of the projection plane, and then renders the textures from the view point of the projector to correct the contents. The display displays the corrected contents on the projection plane.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A system and a method for operation a VR(Virtual Reality) game for treating psychosis are provided to make Obsessive-compulsive disorder environment as a program, and make the psychotic expose the environment repeatedly according to the symptoms. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a VR game producing device, a game input device, a VR game output device, and an electromyogram sensing device. The VR game producing device objectifies the VR environment, and controls the VR according to the external input signal. The VR game input device inputs signal to control the BR and inputs feeling signal of he user. The BR game output device provides matched VR according to the inputted signal. The electromyogram sensing device recognizes the electromyogram of the user, and diagnoses the level of symptoms.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A system for observing a constellation using an augmented reality technique is provided to increase the understanding and interest about the astronomy by providing a graphic astronomical model and detailed information of the constellation through a see-through HMD(Head Mounted Display). CONSTITUTION: An HMD system(200) displays an image in three-dimensionally and grasps the movement of an HMD. Abstract: PURPOSE: A device and method for communicating with participants in a virtual environment is provided to talk to a specific user by converting a character message of the user into a voice having an inherent tone, appending a sound effect, and reproducing the message through a speaker of the receiver while transmitting/receiving the character message. CONSTITUTION: A receiving block comprises an inherent ID of a transmitter and a character string with respect to a transmitted message(S20,S22). A terminal of the receiver separates the ID of the transmitter from a received message and searches an output method with respect to the transmitter in an ID list having a pre-defined voice or a character output(S24). In the case the ID is defined as a voice, an inherent tone of the transmitter is searched using the ID of the transmitter(S28). A character message of the transmitter is converted into a voice using an inherent tone code of the transmitter using a text-to-speech engine, and the voice message is stored in a buffer(S30). The voice message stored in a buffer is converted into a 3D stereophonic sound based on a position of the receiver, a sound effect is applied according to external environments of the receiver, and the converted sound is output with the sound effect through a speaker(S36,S38).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A system for supporting a sports viewing and a method for managing the same are provided to supply various kinds of information related to a sports game selectively at a wanted time by supplying information in real time. CONSTITUTION: A personal inherent sensor(110) chases and identifies a position of each player.
