    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for transmitting upward data at a media access control layer of an asynchronous mobile communication terminal is provided to simplify a data transmission process among a PHY layer, an MAC layer, and an RLC layer. CONSTITUTION: An MAC(Media Access Channel) layer receives a MAC setup request primitive(CMAC-CONFIG-REQ) from an RRC(Radio Resource Control) layer(500). The size of data transmittable to a radio bearer corresponding to a set DCH(Data Channel) parameter is initialized as the maximum TF(Transport Format)(501). If the MAC layer receives a transmission synchronization command primitive(TRC-SYNC-CMD) from a PHY(Physical) layer, the size of data transmittable to all radio bearers corresponding to the corresponding transmission channel is set up to transmit data to an RLC(Radio Link Control) layer through an MAC status indicator(MAC-STATUS-IND)(502-504). The MAC layer sets up the size of the TF not exceeding RLC data length as the size of data transmittable to the next TTI(Transmission Time Interval) to the radio bearer received an MAC status response primitive(MAC-STATUS-RES) from the RLC layer(506). The MAC layer returns to wait TRC-SYNC-CMD(507).
