Abstract: PURPOSE: A device for non-destructive detecting a head unit of a railway rail is provided to compares signals per a receiving unit by using a plurality of ultrasonic transducers for reception, thereby easily grasping the type of the deformity. CONSTITUTION: A device for non-destructive detecting a head unit of a railway rail comprises an ultrasonic transducer(200), a transducer, a receiving unit(310), and an output unit(320). The ultrasonic transducer is arranged in one side of the head and irradiates ultrasonic waves for detecting defects in longitudinal and transversal direction existed inside a head(101) of the railway rail. The transducer receives the ultrasonic waves irradiated from the ultrasonic transducer via the head. The receiving unit receives signals received through the ultrasonic wave transducer. The output unit outputs signals of the receiving unit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a non-destructive inspection device for a head part of a rail. By inspecting the internal defects of a rail without contacts, the present invention can highly decrease the possibility of the abrasion or damage to a probe or an inspection system being in contact with the top or one side of the rail, can nearly occur the deformation of inspection signals caused by the surface of the rail, can prevent the angle variation of ultrasonic propagation caused inside the rail, and can reduce the inspection time by making the inspection speed fast using ultrasonic signals. The inspection device and the gap control method for maintaining a gap between an EMAT and a rail are to inspect the internal defects of the rail in a state where the ultrasonic probe is not physically in contact with the rail by installing the electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) for generating and measuring ultrasonic waves in the lower part of a rail inspection vehicle for inspecting the internal defects of the rail on which trains, trams, or subways are driven while moving on the rail.
