Abstract: 1,2,4-Oxadiazole derivs. having an aromatic substit. of formaul (I) are provided. In (I), R is substd. phenylmethyl (by 1-or 2-H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, amino or acetamino), substd. phenyl (by 1- or 2-H, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy), pyridine-2-yl or substd. pyrrol-2-yl. The derivs. are e.g. 3-methylphenyl-5(2',4'- dichlorophenoxy) methyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole, and are useful as a herbicide.
