    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method of preparing a piperazine derivative substituted by 3,5-dialkoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl group is provided. The piperazine derivative have antioxidant and anticancer activities as well as is used for treatment of diabetes, epilepsy, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders. CONSTITUTION: A piperazine derivative(formula 1) substituted by 3,5-dialkoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl group, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof have improved anti-oxidation activity, compared to the usual antioxidant compounds. In the formula(1), R is hydrogen, or alkyl group containing saturated or unsaturated carbon of C1-C15, X is alkyl group of C1-C3, -CH=CHC(O)- or -CH2CH2C(O)-, and Y is hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy group, amino group, alkyl group of C1-C5, alkoxy group of C1-C5, or phenyl group.
