Abstract: PURPOSE: A high voltage battery degradation determining method is provided to improve accuracy of SOC(State Of Charge) by precisely predicting degradation of a high voltage battery and to secure a stable driving state of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: Variation relation of a charge capacity with respect to a predetermined amount of voltage variation during slow charge according to a degree of degradation of a high voltage battery is calculated(S10). The charge capacity and voltage of the high voltage battery during slow charge in a vehicle mounting a high voltage battery having the same specification of the high voltage battery are obtained(S20). A variation rate of the charge capacity with respect to the predetermined amount of voltage variation from the obtained charge capacity and voltage in the vehicle is calculated(S30). The degree of degradation is determined by comparing the variation rate of the charge capacity with respect to the calculated predetermined amount of voltage variation with the variation rate of the charge capacity with respect to the predetermined amount of voltage variation according to the degree of degradation(S40).
