Abstract: PURPOSE: A low pressure casting system is provided which supplies the accurately controlled air volume into the rectangular furnace by accurately controlling volume of air for pressurizing supplied into rectangular furnace of the low pressure casting system, and a method for controlling the low pressure casting system is provided. CONSTITUTION: The low pressure casting system comprises a low pressure caster(10); a vacuum proportional valve(23) mounted on one side on air injection pipeline(21) connected to one side of an upper part of rectangular furnace(5) of the low pressure caster; a pneumatic sensor(25) mounted on an other side of an upper part of the rectangular furnace of the low pressure caster to detect air pressure inside the rectangular furnace; a controller(27) for duty controlling the vacuum proportional valve by computing signals of air pressure inside the rectangular furnace inputted from the pneumatic sensor and casting operation cycles self-counted, thereby calculating pressure increment of pressurizing air per each casting operation.
