Abstract: A method for determining the optimum driving point per the SOC of a hybrid vehicle is provided to improve fuel efficiency by determining the optimum driving state according to the present SOC. A method for determining the optimum driving point per the SOC of a hybrid vehicle comprises the steps of opening an accelerator pedal (driver's demand); determining the present car speed, the driver's demanded power and the present driving situation calculating the present SOC; determining the SOC stage; finding a plurality of candidate points of an engine capable of driving from the map where the total driving-possible region of an engine is latticed, and the motor driving points corresponding to the each candidate point according to the determined SOC stage; calculating the cost to the each driving point of an engine and a motor; extracting the driving point of an engine and a motor where the cost is minimum; and ordering the output to the engine and the motor based on the extracted driving point.
