The present invention relates to a photosensitive (alkali developable) coloring composition which uses a compound that has excellent heat resistance and excellent solubility in a resin composition. The present invention also relates to an optical filter which uses the photosensitive (alkali developable) coloring composition especially a color filter that does not cause a luminance decrease and is suitable for image display devices such as liquid crystal display panels. Specifically the present invention relates to: a photosensitive (alkali developable) coloring composition which contains (A) a dye that contains at least one compound that is represented by one of general formulae (1) (4) (B) a polymerizable compound which has an ethylenically unsaturated bond or (B ) a polymerizable compound which is alkali developable and has an ethylenically unsaturated bond and (C) a photopolymerization initiator; and a use of the photosensitive (alkali developable) coloring composition. The compound represented by one of general formulae (1) (4) is as set forth in the description.

The color conversion filter of the present invention contains at least one kind of squarylium dye that radiates fluorescence light, has a wavelength conversion capability, absorbs light in an unneeded wavelength region, radiates fluorescence light in a preferable wavelength region, and does not allow decrease in brightness, and thus is preferable for color conversion light-emitting devices, photoelectric conversion devices and the like. Specifically, the color conversion filter of the present invention has an absorption having a high intensity in the range of 570 to 600 nm, and thus is preferable for use in a color conversion filter that radiates fluorescence light having a high intensity in the range of 600 to 780 nm.

Provided is an ±-aminoalkylphenone compound that has good stability and low sublimability, efficiently generates radicals when irradiated with a bright line at 365 nm (i line) or the like, and is useful as a polymerization initiator to be used in a radically polymerizable composition. The ±-aminoalkylphenone compound is represented by Formula (I) mentioned below. In Formula (I) mentioned above, it is preferable that R 11 is a nitro group, an alkoxy group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, or an alkoxycarbonyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms. The ±-aminoalkylphenone compound can be preferably used in a polymerization initiator.

Provided is a photosensitive composition employing, as a photopolymerization initiator, a compound useful as a highly-sensitive photopolymerization initiator that has excellent stability and low sublimability, and that efficiently absorbs and is activated by near-ultraviolet rays at, for example, 365 nm. A photosensitive composition includes a photopolymerization initiator including General Formula (I) below (A), and a polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated bond (B). Preferred, among compounds represented by General Formula (I), are compounds in which R 10 is a hydrogen atom, or a C 1-12 alkyl group that is not substituted or that is substituted by a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group, a halogen atom, a cyano group, or a nitro group.

A colored (alkali-developing) photosensitive composition includes a dye (A) containing at least one of the compounds represented by general formula (I), a polymerizable compound (B) containing an ethylenic unsaturated bond or a polymerizable compound (B') having alkali developing property and containing an ethylenic unsaturated bond and a photopolymerization initiator (C).
