    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit sufficient permeability only to hydrogen without using a noble metal such as Pd by using a membrane composed of an amorphous ZrNi alloy and an amorphous multi component alloy consisting essentially of Zr and Ni. SOLUTION: The hydrogen separation dissociation membrane is obtained preferably by blending a metal, heating in an inert gas atmosphere and cooling with a liquid. For example, 8.7 g Zr and 10.0 g Ni are melted with arc under 50 kPa argon atmosphere and the produced alloy sample is pulverized into about several mm, charged in a quartz nozzle and melted by high frequency induction heating under the 50 kPa argon atmosphere. The melted material is jetted to the periphery of a 200 mm diameter copper roll rotating at 2,000 rpm to be quenched and to obtain the hydrogen separation dissociation membrane having 5 mm width and 0.03 mm thickness and composed of the ribbon like amorphous Zr36Ni64. Both surfaces of the film are exposed for 1 hr under hydrogen atmosphere of 573 K and 0.3 MPa to be activated. In the amorphous Zr36Ni64 alloy, Ni is segregated on the surface in the hydrogen atmosphere to become as a catalyst for hydrogen dissociation to exhibit excellent hydrogen permeability.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound inexpensively, in high yield and harmlessly to human body without requiring removal of organic solvent by vacuum distillation, by fractionating gamma-linolenic acid containing natural fats and oils by chromatography using a supercritical fluid as a mobile phase. CONSTITUTION:gamma-Linolenic acid-containing natural fats and oils are fractionated by chromatography using a supercritical fluid as a mobile phase and a gamma- linolenic acid-containing glyceride fraction is collected to give the aimed com pound. A hydrocarbon such as methane or ethane besides carbon dioxide and freon is used as the supercritical fluid. The supercritical condition is >=72.4kg/cm pressure and >=31.0 deg.C temperature in the case of carbon dioxide. A small amount of ethanol, butane, etc., having 40-120 deg.C boiling point is added to the supercritical fluid so that separating performance is improved. The partial collection condition by the supercritical chromatography is preferably 35-60 deg.C temperature and 90-250kg/cm pressure.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high penetrability only to hydrogen, sufficient strength even in a hydrogen atmosphere and structural stability and substantially unnecessitate the use of noble metals such as Pd by composing the film of an amorphous HfNi alloy. SOLUTION: Prescribed amounts of Hf and Ni are subjected to arc melting in an Ar atmosphere to produce an alloy, which is pulverized to about several mm, is charged to a quartz nozzle and is melted in an Ar atmosphere by high- frequency induction heating. Then, this alloy is jetted to the periphery of a rotating copper roll and is rapidly cooled to produce ribbony amorphous Hf36Ni64. This ribbony one is exposed to gaseous pure hydrogen or a gaseous mixture of Ar-hydrogen. This activating treatment is executed for about 1 hr in the gaseous mixture of Ar-26% hydrogen, by which the hydrogen penetrating rate increases, e.g. from 0.02×10-3 mol/m2.sec to 0.08×10-3 mol/m2.sec. Furthermore, in the case activating treatment is executed for one hr by using pure hydrogen as well, the hydrogen penetrating rate is improved to 0.22×10-3 mol/m2.sec.
